i agree with much of this....except the criteria.....
it really doesn`t take into account muscle mass....muscle is heavier than fat...and not everyone is the same body type.......
that said,it is a fat m.f.`in populace(for the most part)...

if you are 6'5" and weigh over 220 pounds, you are considered overweight on a BMI chart. That's just stupid. I'm sure there are many similar examples.
Shamrock, I will agree that there is way too much obesity, and the real disturbing thing is all of the heavy children. When I was growing up, there was 1 really big kid in each class and a few that were heavy, but nothing like today.

the amazing thing to me is, the 1994 figures are 22.9% obese, 2.9% morbid obese. 2006 figures 36% obese, 6% morbid. That's using the same criteria, it's a drastic change. And like 65 said, the children statistics are frightening.
