A US Airways Airbus A-320 crashed into the Hudson river in New York City.
The plane is Flight number 1549 from NYC to Charlotte North Carolina.
It is being reported that the plane came into an air path with a large group of birds.
Passengers were seen standing on the wings as they were being evacuated.
There could have been up to 146 passengers on board and 5 crew members.
A passenger believes that there were no fatalities.
"I'm pretty sure everyone got off," said the passenger, identified by CNN as Alberto Panero. "It's just incredible that everyone's alive."
Another passenger told Reuters there was what sounded like an explosion a few minutes after takeoff.
"The engine blew. There was fire everywhere and it smelled like gas," Jeff Kolodjay, from Norwalk, Connecticut, told Reuters. "People were bleeding all over. We hit the water pretty hard. It was scary."
