When I was in college I used to work at a liquor store and bring home bottles of Absolut 1.75 of regular or Citron. Loved Vodka tonics, seemed like you'd drink one and the tonic would make you thirsty to have another. Have really not drinked Vodka since. Rarely, at a dinner party I'll have a grey goose or belvedere with tonic or oj but the absolut no longer appeals to me.

Unless you are drinking vodka on the rocks, up, or in a martini (not dirty) then you are cancelling out the reason to pay more (especially if you are mixing with tonic because of how strong it is).
A good, cheap vodka for mixed drinks is Polar Ice.
