Jack - the ultimate rat would be one that tells lies. Jose has told nothing but facts. Hopefully Joses actions will keep one kid from taking steroids and thus helping him.

I applaud the guy. Im sure Im in the minority but I like it that way. I didnt buy a Britney Spears album either. Jack did!:moon:

he didn't do what he did because it's the right thing to do or because he's a good guy, he did it for money. he's a rat.

Well this begs the inverse of an age old question...

He may have done it for money, but i think he also did it because he was " Black balled " in baseball his final seasons, just like Bonds is now. If Bonds came out with a book and started pointing fingers and telling names, would he be a rat ? He doesn't need the money.

It is a term (noun and verb) in criminal slang for an informant - "to rat on someone" is to betray them by informing the authorities of a crime or misdeed they committed.

Maybe - but if someone committed a crime, then they should get what is coming to them.

Or does it just matter in your eyes the TYPE of crime committed....

For example, if you saw a pedophile taking a small girl into his car, I doubt you'd consider the person reporting them to be a "rat" - you'd call them a good citizen for reporting it.

Punish the crimedoer - not the messenger!

yep...

your pedophile analogy sucked ;)

how about this one.

Joe Horn owes his local bookie $5000 but instead of paying up, he sets the bookie up with the cops and gets him busted. Would you call HIM a RAT?
