To an ever-increasing extent, reports suggest that the US military in the Middle East is trying to advance Christianity among the natives. It's a recurring problem, a bad idea, a damned dangerous trend, and of course, it's un-constitutional ? and it's been exposed and re-exposed, and it just goes on and on and on.
US soldiers had an apparently well-organized plan to hand out Bibles to Afghans, according to this coverage that curiously leaves unanswered the most obvious question ? just how big is/was this proselytizing program? We're told that the Bibles were not distributed, but are we talking about 70 Bibles or 7,000,000 Bibles? The reporter doesn't say.

"Most of this is taken out of context", says Greg Julian, a US colonel in Afghanistan. "This is irresponsible and inappropriate journalism. This footage was taken a year ago ... the Bibles were taken into custody and not distributed. There is no effort to go out and proselytize to Afghans. ..." The only thing out of context is why this didn't come to light a year ago. And, btw, we're supposed to take Col Julian's statement on faith?
In response to the above, the Pentagon called al-Jazeera "irresponsible" for its report. So in an in-your-face move, al-Jazeera released unedited video of the American soldiers' 'hunt for Jesus'. It's a pity ? albeit an intentional pity ? that few Americans will see this footage. Al-Jazeera is, last time I checked, on some two or three tiny cable systems in America, and doesn't exist on 99.99& of US TVs.
