about 15 - 20 years ago I had the over in a game with the 49ers, forget who they were playing. 1st half very high scoring and all I need in 2nd half to cover the over is a field goal... You guessed it, NO scoring in the 2nd Half! :scared

Shit I remember that if it was the same game. I had under and remember my book saying I must live with angels for getting the cover.

This story was told to me about 15 years ago at a company I worked at. I have never confirmed this story - but I marveled at the balls it took. And wished we could all do this at one time in our lives.

My friend Richie had an Uncle who has since passed away but he was a crazy gambler. He was at a Knick game in the early 70's with front row courtside seats.

He had FIVE LARGE on the Opposing team +6 (Don't remember the team). In the 70's... 5 grand was like 100 grand today.

The game was tight and the Knicks were winning by 5 with like 5 seconds left the ball was stolen by Clyde the Gyde and he was heading straight for the basket with the layup and the seven point victory.

Richie's Uncle sees this happening and sprints out onto the court and grabs Frazier from hitting the layup. Side out - no score - game over Knicks win by 5.

I laughed at Richie and said it wasn't true - and asked him why would he do such a thing knowing he would get arrested.

His Uncle's response was that it only cost him a $1000 to post bail and pay the fine so it was a winning gamble by netting $4000.

I guess my worst bad beat has happened in overtime games where the dog laid down and the favorite covered. I remember Mike Vick screwing me when I had the Vikings as dogs. I think I was getting +5, and Vick made an incredible run from field goal range for the touchdown and the loss of my cover. My story doesn't compare though to the ones already posted!! :scared

I was on the other side of that one. I remember that game clearly.

One of my worst bad beats was the Dolphins/Jets MNF game in 2000.

I was on Dolphins ML and +2.5. Fins were up 23-7 at half and 30-7 heading into the 4th. I was in college and started celebrating as the +2.5 was my biggest bet to date at that point. The ML was just going to be gravy. Vinny Testaverde goes crazy in the 4th and Jumbo freaking Elliot scores the game tying TD with 42 seconds left on a tackle eligible play. Fiedler throws an INT in OT and Jets win on a FG. That one stung for a while.

sorry simon but i don't believe this story. i was a big knick fan in the 1970s & followed them very closely & don't remember this ever happening. in addition i had a few friends who worked security at the garden in those days & they would have mentioned this incident to me or to any one of my other friends if it occurred..but didn't...
