Is it inevitable that with the re-election of that screwball Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that Iran and Israel will be lobbing bombs at each other soon?

The fact this nut job is going to be around for a while puts the entire world in danger.

I know somewhere in this thread it will be Bush's fault for this conflict....but, I am afraid the time is about to strike midnight and it will be real for all of us.

That nut job is not in control of the country. The Supreme Leader is, that is Ali Khamenei.
He has been Supreme Leader of Iran since 1989 and before that was president of Iran from 1981 to 1989. He has been described as one of only three people having "defining influences" on the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The political system of the Islamic Republic is based on the 1979 Constitution. The system comprises several intricately connected governing bodies. The Supreme Leader of Iran is responsible for delineation and supervision of the general policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.[107] The Supreme Leader is Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, controls the military intelligence and security operations; and has sole power to declare war or peace.[107] The heads of the judiciary, state radio and television networks, the commanders of the police and military forces and six of the twelve members of the Council of Guardians are appointed by the Supreme Leader.[107] The Assembly of Experts elects and dismisses the Supreme Leader on the basis of qualifications and popular esteem.[108] The Assembly of Experts is responsible for supervising the Supreme Leader in the performance of legal duties.

After the Supreme Leader, the Constitution defines the President of Iran as the highest state authority.

Yes - people really need to understand the way Iran works. Once they do, they will realize that their rhetoric is far worse than their actions. They are almost more beaurocratic than us. They will never do anything that jeopardizes their own place on the map.

It is almost required that nation states in that region talk a good game, like Saddam Hussein was doing, to try to bluff their neighbors a bit. With the nuclear question, having a weapon may not be as important as making others believe one has a weapon. (But if they do get one, holy smoke!)
