If I was you, I would send this forum to the bottom. You did that once, and I think it worked. This website is not supposed to be about politics anyway, right? There is no reason that this forum should sit at the top of the page. Nothing wrong with moving it near the dumpster. Most threads here end up there anyway.;)

I can't stand all the lefty talk radio people. Also can't tolerate Rush, Hannity, O'Reilley, etc. etc. etc.

I can take Beck in very small doses.

I used to like listening to Savage well over 10 years ago, but haven't heard him in a long time, and I know I wouldn't like him now.

My favorite is probably G.G. Liddy, but I'm not sure if he's still even on. Haven't heard him for years either.

So you've stated you listen to at least three talk shows all day.

Basically you are saying that you can't come up with an original thought. All we ever hear from you is shit those three talk about all day to hillbillies. Do you ever wonder why the right has so many highly rated shows? Thats right. You lack critical thinking.

I have never listened to any political radio show for more than 10 minutes. Do some fucking research yourself. Maybe being a sheep fits you?

Don't listen to Hannity much as comes on past my bed time--

Let me make sure I got this right--and we have things in perspective-

You all chastise anyone that is bilnd follower of Hannity's pro American spiel

--but vote for a pres who blindly followed Rev Wrights rhetoric and was his self professed Uncle/mentor for 20 years.

I'll try an keep an open mind :)

Once again, it appears that you are singling me out, and then softballing it with a "you all" and then not single me out. I'll answer anyway, for what it's worth. I'm being so dogged about Hannity specifically, because of what he said he would do (to make himself look good and win over listeners) and then he hides from it and maintains how loyal he is to the people he was hypocritical about. Not sure that I have chastised anyone, but I don't think following anyone like Hannity blindly is an objective thing, nor do I think following Olberman, Krauthammer, Ed Schultz, or especially Limbaugh is either.

Nice stretch to work in the right Reverend in your analogy, though. Not really a straight line, but I admire the attempt. I accept Obama's explanation about Wright, and have my opinions about that, and don't put much credence in the connection. I know it makes some feel good about how bad it is, but doesn't really bother me. Not that that has anything to do with the subject here, but I guess it's a side angle opportunity to rip Obama, which works well for you.

So Cal
Jack - I suggest that you listen to NPR to hear what the other side has to say!

Hannity, Limbaugh, O'reilly et al are a large part showman with their opinions translating into dollars. Take them with a huge grain of salt.

NPR, however, is scarier because they all actually believe 100% of what they say.

Wayne, would you be a regular listener of Hannity if it were more convenient? I guess what I am really asking is if you believe his point of view is valid or not.

Personally, I think that he is a hate monger and to some degree, a large part of what is fundimentally wrong with America.

One simple question-Chad

Could you elaborate which explaination--

The "he's been my Uncle/Mentor for 20 years"

-or after Wright was exposed-- "I could no more disown him than my white grandmother--

-or after Wright dissed him at National Press Club and his poll #s started dropping--%#$&&%$ THE REV

--I think considering O flopping on every major issue--supporters should clarify which stance they support--seriously.

--have watched him on occasion Gregg

He can be over bearing at times--

What I do like is has one of few shows where you have one side confront the other head on--you get both sides of arguement-and viewer can decide who has stronger case.

my view of what is fundementally wrong in america--is outlets which continuely pound one side of arguement down everyones throat--with few disenting views.

following along those lines--
I have respect for someone who will debate his views with all comers--

--Flip side--I have no respect for anyone especially pres candidates who are scared shitless to debate on any network that isn't in their pocket.

I guess I could say I accept all three answers, considering they were given in different situations, to different questions, at different times, after different comments and actions by Wright. I definitely think when you are running for the office of President, you have to be careful what you say - no different with Obama in this regard than others before him, IMO - and change your position if the situation changes. No doubt with Wright, his behavior could certainly be deemed problematic, and Obama then distanced himself from him. Much like any of us would do if someone we knew acted and spoke ridiculously or said hurtful things about us.

I've mentioned before my opinions about preachers and churches like those - for years they were the only sanctuary and place where opinionated black leaders could speak their mind without fear of repercussion, and where they could get their issues out. I certainly don't think Obama agreed with or adopted some of the things Wright spouted off, and I understand continuing to go to a church for political reasons in an area where you are a representative and neighborhood organizer. It just make sense to do that. So, I accept much of what he says, when he said it, and why. I know this bothers those (like you) that simply find fault with Wright, but it just doesn't bother me that much.

I've never really heard those that rip on this association comment about Dubbya Bush or his older brother being president, when their own father had such supportive, economic and personal ties to Nazi Germany (and other arguably connected people in high places). To me, that's a much more embarrassing and opinion/value former than going to church to hear a preacher, when if you have some common sense and intelligence can make decisions about what he's ranting about from time to time. I merely post that as a comparison for the "ties" issue that seems so important to conservatives NOW.

Since you hold Obama to task for not appearing/debating on Fox, I guess you're ignoring his appearance when campaigning on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace. So, he really hasn't refused to do what you say, has he? So, maybe you can change your point moving forward?

Now, since we hold Obama to that standard, I'm trying to think back on how many and interviews Bush appeared on on MSNBC during his 8 years... I'm sure you can help me out with that. I know he liked to appear on Fox, and really liked Tony Snow, hiring him from Fox, then granting that same guy and exclusive later, with Fox. So, I guess I can see why sitting Presidents probably would not subject themselves to no win situations with talk show hosts who have everything to gain, can control the questions and themes, and no real upside in doing it.
