mullyspicks.com

anything. I have an avenue to create a website and I would like to take advantage of it. Making some money along the way. Something for the masses. Lots of well educated, open minded members here at Madjacks, so thought id try to get some ideas. I'll put up the money to get it started and if it goes well, the person/persons responsible for creating the idea will be co partner of said site.

Ever been on theherdsword.com? I think something like that combined with some Maxim type stuff and you would have the ultimate mans site. Sports, hot women, tech bites, fantasy sports chat, cars, etc.

It would be extremely tough to compete with Facebook, Twitter, My Space. Not to mention the infrastructure needed to run a site like that.

Something along those lines. I buy and sell stuff on the side and love doing it. I collect as well.

Your question is somewhat empty handed.
What kind of money do you have to put into this if any? Are you going to seek out investors if it comes to that?
Are you going to try and sell a product or are you looking for a quick get rich idea with no real overhead risk like Facebook?

Here is an idea that I am have always been looking for and it ties in with gambling.
There is a site somewhat similar to my idea that I use but is the only one out there that I have found. It is non sponsored site for MJ but just google the word COVERS.

Every gambler needs a site that give you info on past games, performances, stats, lines, totals, history.
This site has more than succeeded as they have sponsors out the ass. You can hit up sportsbooks, and even a MJ site for sponsorship advertisement.
You can setup fantasy sports leagues and charge which is all profit once you get the software to do it.

Fantasy Sports has never been bigger and it seems like everybody is always looking for a better model every year.

Gambling aids and fantasy leagues is where it is at.
Once you get enough sponsor income then you can start contests like the other site.

It will all be about getting your site out there and let word of mouth take it off.

This is offers plenty of stats for sports but leaves out the gambling side of it.

http://statsheet.com/

Fantasy Sports site is an easy payday as all you are in for is the software and maintaining updates on site and rest is profit.

Everybody uses Yahoo,CBS,or ESPN for fantasy and most people hate using them.

Ok, I have an idea but I want credit for it!

EVERY gambler at some point searches for how to handicap games. Most places will give you picks and maybe some stats or trends. Why not make a handicapping university site. A place where people can go to learn how to handicap a sporting event for themselves, learn about money management, etc.

EDIT: I can't even spell university, it tooks two times to correct it. :mj07:

seriously though.

setup as many sites as possible......100's of sites. not too hard once you have a few templates. just pump out 10 a day or more.

advertise on google ads for credit repair, mortgage refis, foreclosure help, etc.

just have them signup for info with name, address, phone, etc.

then you sell those leads to businesses that are selling that service.

big money!

if i was younger and had the time, that's what i would do.

hmmmmm, maybe i will do that ;)

Recently switched jobs. As a Sales Manager for a major investment website, we are looking for an acquisition. What I am looking for that would be ideal for me (and the company I work for) would be a forex website with widgets, real time streaming charts, currency news and commentary, and a tracking device that could be set up in order so users could receive emails for their currency trades. Believe it or not Forex is the hottest thing right now much more than stocks, options, futures, commodites, etc.

Kneifl, forex factory? I think they do almost all of that and the traffic on that site is very high. Not sure about the trades and tracking device, that would be handled by the broker they're trading with. Otherwise a 3rd party would have to know all trades and they brokers wouldn't want that. Besides, I watch all of my forex trading on real time charts over my pda.

Some of the good ones are inexpensive right now. We had a very good one that was valued at about $9K and we would have hired the developers. We wouldn't have paid that for it though. They wanted to work remotely and I think they thought the site was worth more so the deal fell through. The site was called SaneBull and I think the advertising we could have put on it would have paid for it in the first few months.
