Anybody have a favorite? Looking for a seat and some drinks. How early do you have to arrive on Saturday AM for a seat? Much appreciate the advice.

In the shadows
Bally's is really cool,

great selection of food around, right off of Flamingo, walk in the door, and there you are !

Caesers, need I say more? Great if you have a hen with, Bad if you have a hen with you :mj07:

There is a Hooters in Vegas, but I am not into that place, lousy food, stoooopid waitresses

Ok i use to live there for 10 years.

#1 Las Vegas Hilton best odds in town bar none. Not the fanciest but great odds and alot of big action people there.

#2 Mandalay Bay right by the poker rooms if you need to play poker brent musberger is there alot playing the horses i have seen him hit some big ones.

#3 Red Rock Station but i dont think you want to drive that far

thats my choices i am not a big fan of ceasars and it wins alot best of sports books maybe they pay them off because its not that good. hope this helps have fun i miss my old home town of las vegas. havent been back in 2 years....

Any idea how early I would need to get to the Hilton for a seat on a Saturday AM during CFB season?

Well I think you can do no wrong in Vegas and depends what type of person you are as to where you watch them.
Top Fancy Places:
1.Bellagio- http://www.bellagio.com/casino/race-and-sports-book.aspx
2. The Venetian- Maybe the most comfortable seats in a sportsbook and very niceand usually somewhat quiet.Only knock is it is kind of compact but plenty of hdtv's. Food right there as well.
3. Caesar's Palace - It used to be an extremely weak sportsbook back in the 90's and they did a nice overhaul of it.
4. Las Vegas Hilton - Forgot this one. Big with many big hdtv's .

Top People place sportsbook:
1. I would say again the Bellagio. Good crowds and usually pretty rowdy.
2. Mandalay Bay - Very solid all around.

Books that disappoint me:
1.MGM Grand - Way to compact for such a big hotel. You are right on top of everybody if it is a typical NCAA Saturday.
2. Planet Hollywood - Buried in the corner and not very many tv's as compared to all others.
3. Luxor - Just not that big either.
4. Monte Carlo - WAY,WAY TO SMALL.

Hope that gives you a little idea of where not to go. I agree that you are fine in any of the top books even getting there a little before kick as many stay all day,but many come and go and you can move when needed.
I only went once last season and Bellagio is place I would go given only one choice.

probally about 1 hour before first game is good.Where are you staying. As far as the bellagio goes when i lived there i was only in there once hated it that was the hotel ,but i was a valet and i never heard any of the my connections ever bring up the bellagio sports book. I use to valet at the silverton and our sportsbok was terrible,if you could of called it a sports book.Leroys has the worst odds i have ever seen anywhere. Like kegray said they are all different and some people like different things. I really dont think you can go wrong at my top 2 choices. have a great trip and good luck...

Without a doubt the new book at Pallazzo!

This place is insane! They just had new owners open it up at the start of college football! The Pallazzo is the new edition to the Venetion!

It is a sportsbook that reminds me of ESPN Zone! They have a HUGE stadium seating area with couches and you make your bets right below the seats! The food is big time! I recommend the nachos! I was there opening weekend for NFl! It was awesome! Additionally for a little added bonus the waitresses are even better! Enjoy and let us know what you choose!

Vegas books

I haven't been out there for about 5 years now, maybe things have changed. But prior to that, I was there every other year for a good period of time and that no. 4 spot that keygray1 mentioned (oops I just noticed scrub got it at numero uno) IS THE PLACE. It's the Hilton that is off the strip, near the Sahara. Most comfortable, great lighting and screens. and I think you'll have a shot at getting a seat no matter what time you get there cause the place is huge and off the strip. As far as the rest of that place - I cannot believe how old it is cause the grounds and interior still looks almost new. NICE place.

I KNOW Planet Hollywood is the worst and advise you to not even waste your time checking it out. There's no evidence of any effort to attract players there. :nono:

Love the Madalay Bay - Roomy, Casino and Poker rooms literally steps away. You can reserve a table next to the bar, very very solid.

Agree with someone who said the MGM is disappointing. Just stayed there a month ago for the first time and it is tiny compared to the hotel.

STAY AWAY FROM!!
Hooters - If you are a serious gambler, you don't want these idiots around you. Think about it, do you really want to be around the type of person who goes to Vegas and stays at Hooters? But hey, that's me

Planet Hollywood - see above
Hard Rock - see above

Others that are good
Caesars, Venetian, most of the nicer posh hotels of course

I actually like the Monte Carlo - it is small, but usually not that many people there. I like staying there because it is nicer, but doesn't compare to the ones that surround it, so you get a nice hotel and room for much less than NYNY, Bellagio, etc

Bottom line - stay within your means, drink heavily, eat great, take in some games with buddies, and have a great time.

We are only on this earth for a short time, so enjoy each and every college football Saturday to the fullest!!:00hour

I agree.
Formerly, JayZ's 40/40 Club, the sportsbook at the Palazzo is by far my favorite. It is at street level directly on Las Vegas Boulevard with a nice patio that opens right on to the Strip. Pretty pricey menu but absolutely the best venue to watch the sports that I have ever seen.

I have taken a couple college football nfl weekend trips to vegas along with a couple march maddness trips
Bellagio hands down is the best, nicest with largest TV's, free (weak if your getting liq) drinks
but overall just very nice. I had to get there around 730 / 8 to get a seat though
place is pimp
Mandalay I would say is second also free drinks
Never been to the hilton so I can't comment i have heard good things and it seems to be where the locals hang aka people in the know

I h ave not been to the Palazzo but I have heard from a few friends that the place is pretty sick and it is one of if not the best sportsbooks and places to watch games.

I agree with above comment on Planet Hollywood not even wanting to bring in serious Sports wagering.
I stayed at Planet Hollywood for free twice because of a friend that worked in a show there and I thought it was an ok book because it was convienent since I was there.
I quickly learned that it SUCKED upon a 2nd visit.

I went to place a wager on a UFC event knowing that it was still hours away from starting.
They told me the preliminary card was underway so all wagers were no longer on the board.
Even though my fight was 4 hours away they would not take it.
Went across the street and the took it with no problem.
