I'm doing my capping research early this morning with the intent on making a pretty big play on the Titans as underdogs this week.

However after researching the game, I've come to the opinion that the Jets are capable of covering the small -3, so if I play the Titans at all it will have to be in a teaser with more points.

The Jets handed the Titans their first loss of the season in week #12 last year (with Brett Favre at QB) beating the Titans 34-13 in Tennessee? The Jets dominated that game from start to finish rolling up 28 first downs to the Titans 16, racking up 409 total yards to the Titans 281 (with 192 coming on the ground with DT Albert Haynesworth in the lineup) and controlling the time of possession to the tune of 40:30 to 19:30.

The Jets are arguably a better team this year because they have a much better coach in Rex Ryan and he has the team believing in itself.

Yes Brett Favre is gone and has been replaced by a rookie QB in Mark Sanchez, but the Titans defense really misses the big guy Albert Haynesworth in their lineup.

Plus, Rex Ryan is very familiar with the Titans and Jeff Fisher since the two met annually when Ryan was the DC in Baltimore.

I just had to post this since I scrolled the forum and saw quite a few cappers already on the Titans.

** Also I almost forgot to add that the Titans defense has not looked good, while the Jets defense has been stellar...plus...the Jets offensive line is one of the better units in the league.

i keep thinking why everyone's against the Jet's ?
they're putting a lot on both sides in the games they've won, and Sanchez, a ROOKIE, has MOVED the team, compared to the expected "fall on their faces" performances
so expect more from this TEAM, not individually

if sanchez has won against 2 good teams and I don't see him having more trouble this week. the jets defense plays the worst QB they have played all year and they are at home. I would love to see the titans go 0-3 as the Colts take what is truly theirs (THE AFC SOUTH TITLE)

I agree the Jets under Ryan have put "Team-First" and the results have been positive.

However, I have to admit going into this week (and before I broke this game down) I really liked the Titans and the +3 to notch their first win...however... after tearing this one apart, I really like the way the Jets offensive line matches up against the Titans d-line and can't forget that the Jets posted 192 rushing yards against a better Titans defense from last year with the big guy Haynesworth in the middle...on the flips side...Rex Ryan has experience scheming for the Titans offense since he was the Ravens DC for years...plus I love the way the Jets defense has played this season...the addition of Bart Scott in the middle (next to a very under-rated David Harris) has really solidified their defense.

Last but not least...I have to side with the Jets special teams unit in the return game with Leon Washington and co.

This is almost a must win for the Titans early in the season, but a "W" won't be easy this week.

Well, 1) a rookie QB 2) both teams they beat had no defense, and Houston didn't show up for the 1st one. 3) A desperate Titans team that needs the win and will show up BIG for this one. 4) Everyone knows that teams who go 0-3 is toast for the season. I have a feeling the Titans will show up for this one. Last year the Titans lost there 1st game to the Jets. This year, they hand the Jets there first lost.

Well, 1) A rookie QB

all valid points indeed, though this one sticks out at me---as when does a rookie QB win his first..however many games? he'll for sure have one of these games where he'll look the part of a rookie QB forcing throws into spaces that woulda been completion in COL though talent and game speed make them incompletes/ints. i'm not trying to hate on sanchez, jus something disagrreable with this REALLY IMPROVED jets TEAM winning their third game of year.

Even still, the Titans secondary has been in shambles with continued breakdowns and bloiwn assignments leading to some really incosistent play and un-titan like defensive showings. that said, would think works into favor of jets, though could esily see them stepping up their D vs what they've shown to this point this yr and possibly confusing sanchez into game changing turnovers.

i think, this is either a play on titans or no play. agreed taking titans with more points would be nice, though kinda feel tenn wins this one--if they dont, and jets win, i would definietly be wary of riding jets the following week--reagrdless of opponent.

tenn intangibly wins game in the creases not found in stats boxscores in this one. GLA

The Jets are for real!

They have a solid offensive line...a good running game...a very solid defense...good special teams...a young QB that is learning to manage a game but takes chances as well...and last but not least...a head coach that has the team believing in themselves.

"the bunker"
the jets are a damn good team....sanchez is going to be a solid qb for a long time in the nfl...and most importantly, ryan is a winner...

but lets call a spade a spade here...the real truth is that two fumbled punt returns were the determining factors in that game...not jet dominance.....14 points.... they were on their way to a potential loss until mouton blew that second punt return...

they`re on a roll..things are breaking their way..rex is a solid coach...personally,i just love the way this team attacks on defense when protecting a lead...no "prevent" for rex(i just hope the rest of the league takes notice).....

the thing that reallly galls me(i had tennessee),is the fact that last week, mouton did the same thing...twice....and after he basicallly put his own team behind the 8 ball in a make or break game(again and again),fisher continued to put mouton back as his punt returner !!....i`m talking after the second fumble in the jet game(his fourth in 2 weeks)....

that`s just <s>amazing</s> stupid....i`ll have to re-form my opinion of fisher as a coach...that kind of stubornness is what may keep tennessee out of the playoffs this year...

an apparent case of flaunting his own authority while exhibiting a blatant disregard for the success and welfare of his team...

unforgivable...

I never said that the reason that the Jets won was because they dominated the game.. I just pointed out that they have the "pieces of the puzzle" in place to be a very successful football team, which allows them to be competitive week in and week out, which allows them a chance to win a close game like yesterdays contest.

I have to agree with you that Fisher's stubborness has cost them this season...I think his continued success over the long haul has inflated his own ego.

All in all...it was a great game to watch!

we agree....i`m a sort of fan of the jets.... and i believe they`re getting some suspended defenders back off suspensin this week?(pace and somebody else).....

the pats better not sleep on this bunch...the jets, imo, have the much better "d"(with all hands on deck) this year....

many folks are singing the praises of them signing bart scott and lito shepard...but,as a ravens` fan,i really mourned the loss of safety jim leonard....this guy`s a real playmaker as a safety and a punt returner....

a difference maker....ryan knew that...

in time we get vindicated

in time we get vindicated

as i see it TEAM effort has done the miracle on this Jets ...not one player has quit or even errors have been minimized ...Sanchez fumble wasn't even regreted by D's players which made their effort to keep close the game and finally winning it

I like the Jets...I'm not a fan of any one team, but appreciate good football played by solid organizations that know what they're doing.

They just got DE/OLB Shaun Ellis back from suspension and get DE/OLB Calvin Pace back this week...their defense will be smokin!

Leonard is undersized by NFL standards, which is why he went undrafted but signed with the Bills as a free agent...in fact Leonhard was a walk-on at Wisconsin who made the team and received a scholarship...he's a gamer who gives it his all and fits well in Ryans defensive scheme.
