cable television question

last night, my television loses every station. Comcast comes out today, and says the cable input (where the coaxial cable screws into the TV) is evidently no good, because he gets a signal on his tester. Also he claims the cable 2 input doesn't work. Gets the television to work going through video 1 input.

I don't even use the cable 2 input, so not sure how it could be gone? But anyway, can these things be replaced, and if so what is a ballpark price. Of course nobody fixes televisions anymore, you just evidently buy another.

Thanks in advance

i`m curious...that wouldn`t happen to be a toshiba t.v.,would it shammy?...

i had a toshiba.....the coaxial input wasn`t making contact after awhile...it was loose and i guess the wiring was affected.....i had to put a pressure clamp on it to keep it in a certain position so it would make contact.....

after awhile,i got tired of fighting with the damned thing and trashed it.....

garden, this TV has some age on it. Got to be at least a decade old. It was the best AMERICAN MADE, television you could still buy when I got it. Zenith, picture in picture, 2 separate tuners, drop down menus, when nobody had them. 42in
last of the American made Electronics.

Can't complain, the time to get another plasma or something. Not good timing however almost the weekend.

i hear you,partner...i have an old 36" mitsubishi...had it for close to 15 years...(i bought it at a place called "luskins",that went out of business around the time of "peking man")...i kept waiting for it to go up,so i could justify getting a flat screen...

but,the thing won`t die...i finally said the hell with it...it`s still going strong....i`m attached to it....but,it`s a monster...

i have a 52" 1080 p sony...and a 37" 720 p panasonic.....and to be honest,with an hdmi connection,the panasonic is every bit as good(maybe because the screen is a little smaller?)....

love em both....hi-def flat screen t.v.`s rank right up there with beer and crotchless panties....

treat yourself,bud...you only go around once...:toast:
