played some low $ nl holdem and went up and down. I was down to 33 bucks, so I signed up for 1 $11 and 1 $22 tournaments. at the first break, I'm in the top 2% in both. 10 minutes into the second hour in tourney 1, I get pocket jacks in UTG + 1. I limp in. 5 callers. Flop is J 5 10 rainbow. I check and then call a bet from the button. turn is a 5. Check all the way around. Turn is a 9 and puts 3 to a flush plus a straight draw on the board. I bet 1/4 of the pot. Fold around the button who repops. I reraised, he re-reraised, all the money goes in, and yep, he shows down 5 5 for quads and I'm out... :moon:
5 minutes later, I get dealt kk in the bb in the other tourney. Late position raises, and I call. flop is j k 2 rainbow. check, bet, call. Turn is a 5, I checked, he bet, I raised, he reraised, he went all in, and I called all in. He has a set of Jacks. Guess what the river was?? Focking case jack.
So, 2 tournaments in 15 minutes where I flop set over set only to get crushed by quads. :moon:
