5-3 playoffs
So far I Played: PHILADELPHIA +134 (Martinez vs Padilla listed)
Still looking at the LAA-NY game....will post later if I do.
Looking at the Philly-Dodgers game, this line is a bargain as far as I'm concerned. I think the line is what it is because a lot of people are looking at how bad the Dodgers need this win at home before going on the road to Philly for game 3. I'm not gonna put anything up about Philly starter Pedro Martinez, because to be honest, I can't figure out what kind of game you might get with him. Now with that being said, this might be the worst matchup I ever seen as far as a starter and his tendencies go.
It's negative city for Dodger's Starter Vincente Padilla:
Padilla has struggled vs lefty hitters his entire career and I think even maybe a little more so the past few years, but career wise he has allowed close to a .300 average vs lefties while only a .241 average to righties. Over his career he also walks lefties at rate of double of that vs righties. I mean this is not good news when you're facing a team who's best hitters are left-handed bats:
Ryan Howard
Jimmy Rollins
Chase Utley
Raul Ibanez
Shane Victorino
Padilla also tries to induce ground balls and that's another negative for him in this game as Philly has grounded into the least amount of double plays this season, not just the National League, but all of baseball....only 90 all year so it won't be quite as easy to escape quickly out of an inning if a runner or 2 get on. Philly is also best in the National league in lifting the ball and have the lowest ground out to flyout ratio in the NL....that ground out vs a different team might mean a line drive facing this team. Stuff like this could make Padilla very inefficient.
Padilla in 8 games including 4 career starts at Dodger Stadium also has recorded only 1 win.
Also, I know everyone seems scared and talks about how the Phillies have all these bullpen problems and of course they do have some problems, but remember they are a playoff team and you have to win to get here and I think that gets blown out of proportion a little more....Dodgers pen is probably better...true, but I think the Phillies hitters can hit the Dodgers pen just as good if it would come down to that.
Good luck to all today! :0corn
