5-3 playoffs

So far I Played: PHILADELPHIA +134 (Martinez vs Padilla listed)

Still looking at the LAA-NY game....will post later if I do.

Looking at the Philly-Dodgers game, this line is a bargain as far as I'm concerned. I think the line is what it is because a lot of people are looking at how bad the Dodgers need this win at home before going on the road to Philly for game 3. I'm not gonna put anything up about Philly starter Pedro Martinez, because to be honest, I can't figure out what kind of game you might get with him. Now with that being said, this might be the worst matchup I ever seen as far as a starter and his tendencies go.

It's negative city for Dodger's Starter Vincente Padilla:

Padilla has struggled vs lefty hitters his entire career and I think even maybe a little more so the past few years, but career wise he has allowed close to a .300 average vs lefties while only a .241 average to righties. Over his career he also walks lefties at rate of double of that vs righties. I mean this is not good news when you're facing a team who's best hitters are left-handed bats:

Ryan Howard
Jimmy Rollins
Chase Utley
Raul Ibanez
Shane Victorino

Padilla also tries to induce ground balls and that's another negative for him in this game as Philly has grounded into the least amount of double plays this season, not just the National League, but all of baseball....only 90 all year so it won't be quite as easy to escape quickly out of an inning if a runner or 2 get on. Philly is also best in the National league in lifting the ball and have the lowest ground out to flyout ratio in the NL....that ground out vs a different team might mean a line drive facing this team. Stuff like this could make Padilla very inefficient.

Padilla in 8 games including 4 career starts at Dodger Stadium also has recorded only 1 win.

Also, I know everyone seems scared and talks about how the Phillies have all these bullpen problems and of course they do have some problems, but remember they are a playoff team and you have to win to get here and I think that gets blown out of proportion a little more....Dodgers pen is probably better...true, but I think the Phillies hitters can hit the Dodgers pen just as good if it would come down to that.

Good luck to all today! :0corn

I like it, Pedro seems to be fired up. Hope his body can handle it, at least they have Blanton once Pedro burns out. Phils TT may be a good play also, at least Im on it :mj06:

Good analysis. This one reeks of slugfest. Pedro goes 5 at best and then the parade starts again. Torre will go right to Billingsley. I'm on the over since I also believe the day game will help scoring. We will see

Nothing personal but it seems you have no handle on the playoff. First you tell us REDSOX will Steamroll LA then :

I would love to book all your Phillies action...Dodgers in 5 or 6...I'm giving Lee one win and maybe a lucky win in another

Wondered if you would still love to be my book ?

Shhhh.

You are dead on. But imagine all of the Dodgers Series Bets in play along with the chasers from game 1 thinking no way Dodgers get rolled 2-0 at home. We think alike. :00hour

you never said the red sox would steam the angels but you said them or the yanks would be in the world series, red sox couldn't even win one game. you also loved colorado's matchup vs philly. that didn't work out too well either. lad in 5 or 6 highly unlikely. their ace couldn't do anything vs philly and now philly garbage padilla/wolf are gonna win? good luck with that.

Nasty time at MJ's....what happened to this place....I think the Angels have a good shot at beating the Yankees now...I thought the Redsox could get past the Angels but since they didn't I'm looking at the Angels now with a chance to get past the Yankees....

not being nasty. you're saying last night was lucky and that's far from the truth. hamels looked pretty lousy and they still had a comfortable win. all i heard about the past week was how solid kuo/sherrill are and how philly couldn't hit them. they scored 8 runs last night and all were against LHP. pretty impressive. Outside of Madson the phils bullpen looked great. They have pedro going at least 5 tonight and blanton can pitch as much as they need him tonight. lidge is 3-3 in saves and park looked impressive last night. Phils are under the radar this year in the playoffs. First Col was gonna knock them off, now its the dodgers. Dodgers better hope they win this game because Lee will win game 3 at home vs Wolf.

Park looked good but can he go back to back....I was kidding about lucky....lets just say rare in reference to Sherrill giving up that blast to Ibanez....Lidge still looked shaky....the Dodgers missed opportunities all night...Phils cashed twice via the 3run HR....I do not think this series is over....I'm hoping for some exciting games with the Dodgers prevailing....

by no means do i think the series is over. i'm a huge phils fan but am rational when it comes to baseball wagering and its only 1 game. i passed on last night's game, really thought it was a toss up and that lad had a good chance to go up 1-0. I think park can go back to back. from what i heard he had some great bullpen sessions last week in clearwater, fla and they need to pitch well for the team to have a chance in close games. i'm shocked they hit sherrill last night, i thought he would be the most difficult guy in the pen for them to hit. they do rely on the long ball a lot but i don't think anything will change. i like the phils to win again tonight, something along the lines of 6-4. i'm definitely taking them pretty large over 3.5 (-135) and probably a small wager straight up (+136).

You know, everyone has their opinions and thoughts....sometimes you're right, sometimes you're wrong...no need to argue. If everyone was right, sportsbetting wouldn't exist...geez.....There's so many variables that can happen in games anyways.
