ya but thats too nights in a row of very bad beats.. last night pitt and tonight ne... they are supposed to even out, at least thats what im told..

lemme tell ya something about bad beats..

ever lose 13-straight nhl shootouts? i have. :mj07:

when its happening, it can really mess with your head. by shootout loss seven, looking to the heavens and saying 'what have i done to YOU, asshole!' seemed normal, even for an agnostic like me with a strong atheistic lean.

it's much easier to remember the bad beats over the good ones.

people win games they shouldn't and lose games they should win all the time, but you've gotta protect your sanity on the downs.

just my .02

Sorry for your loss. I had the points. But I think it was the right call. It didn't work out but it was the right call. Bellichick knew he couldn't stop the Colts and with two minutes left withen two plays Manning would be in the Red Zone anyway. The Colts couldn't stop the Patriots all night. It was a great finish. Not the one I wanted but it was fun.

Stop defending your coach. It was the right call? Lets see go for it if we don't get it Manning has 30 yards to go, punt Manning has 70 yards to go yeah it was the right call. Only in your world.

Right call. 2 yards game over. Punting as hot as Peyton was IMO was no better than turning it over there. This game had Colts win by 1 written all over it.
ML -130 spread -3.

The Colts couldn't stop the Pats all night. The Patriots couldn't stop the Colts, especially in the fourth Quarter. Within two plays Manning would have been in the Red Zone anyway. I would rather have the game rest in the hands of my offense than my defense under those circumstances. If not for a bobble, they had it.

I meant Fuck you pats

Manning is not God. He threw a couple of picks, was sacked, threw some away on hurries. The defense someone as a leader on that team steps up and gets his team to make a play. If it was fourth and less than 1 I cut them some slack. Bellidick made a critical mistake and should be crucified. If this was a playoff game do you think he goes for it?What message does this send to his defense?

It says they have no faith in the D. Yes they could of ended the game if they would of got it. but at the same the time the D could of ended the game with a pick or a stop on 4 downs..

Definetly the right call. You have to be able to get the 2 yards. Manning had 2 4th quarter drives alone, for TD's and both just under 2 minutes each. If that doesn't tell you that your D will NOT stop him with the game on the line, I don't know what will. Faulk is as good as they come on 3rd and 4th down conversions, Ballsy call and the right one.

But you're right! Manning had just taken the Colts 79 yards in 1:49 for a TD, and with the 2 minute warning and a timeout, he would have had plenty of time to drive the COLTS to the winning score. He's done it many many times. Granted, NE may have finally stopped the COLTS, or Manning could have once again thrown a duck, but the bottom line is, it was a gutsy call, a debatable one, but probably the PATS best chance at winning...

If was a coach I would never have made that call, because of all of the backlash involved with not converting it. That being said , Bill has to be considered one of the best coaches ever, so he has alot of leeway. I started thinking about this call and this is what I came up with: My guess was the colts had about an 85% chance of scoring a td after taking over at the 28 and with all the momentum they had built up, mannings incredible ability to cash in last minute drives etc.,the colts home field advantage, and the pats inexperieced defense. If they punt barring a major return, they would have had the ball at their 30-35. It doesnt take manning long to go 40 yards and be right back where they started with the ball at the 28. I would guesstimate that the colts would have had a 55%-60% chance of marching the ball down the field , factoring in again, their momentum , manning etc. So my thought are that the pats would have had a 25-30% better chance of stopping them from scoring a td, from their own 30-35. All that being said the pats were converting 4th and 2's or less almost 70% of the time, and if they converted this one the game was over and won by the Pats. Not sure how to run the %'s but my guess is his decision % speaking would result in wins slightly more than loses(keep in mind the pats have the best offense in the league). Oh, by the way I cant stand Bellichick(though I would love to have him as the eagles coach) and enjoyed watching his contorted face! This added dimension of play calling would make it awfully difficult to make wagers on games with suffering a stroke!
