The US families groceries = totally disgusting. Look at all that overprocessed grossness. About the only thing I would eat on that table is the grapes, and probably not even, because grapes are one thing I will only eat organic because they are one of the foods with the highest pesticide rates. I mean seriously, is this what people really eat in the US? How much high fructose corn syrup and nitrates can be on one table?

I would choose the Ecuadorian's food out of all these pictures - looks like some great meals to be made! And we wonder why there is a problem with obesity in America? Disgusting...

Since my wife and I don't eat meat (I will eat fish, though), our groceries look most like the Egypt picture. Lots of potatoes, onions, peppers, tomatoes, eggs, and carrots for us.

my friend gave me a book called"sugar busters" & in the book the author said that the 2 worst things people can eat are white potatoes & white bread....he said that eating those items is like eating pounds of sugar....

I don't eat white bread, but if you think eating a potato is worse than most stuff americans eat (beef, chicken, and pork included) I disagree. The book that changed my diet is the Omnivore's Dilemma, where he cites a key problem with today's dietary advice advising people against natural foods. I'll eat potatoes, the "fatty" versions of sour cream and yogurt, and take my chances.
