I am in the market for a new laptop, my old one died Sunday as I spilled a whole bowl of cereal on it. Let it dry out and brought it to work for our computer guy to fix and my hard drive is gone. now I have to send it to data recovery company since I did not backup all my pictures, my question is has anyone used a data recovery company and what did they charge? I have an external hard drive now so this should never happen again.

What is the latest and greatest laptop these days for around 700 bucks?

I may just tell my wife that she is going to have to live with the pictures we do have and luckily my dad backed up all my pictures 8 or 9 months ago on his external hard drive, I don't want anyone getting my personal info:scared thanks for the tip Vinnie.

Actually, the moral of the story is to take off your football helmet before you attempt to eat a bowl of cereal while hovering above your computer.

:142smilie that is what I needed, my wife is still pissed at me for not backing up all our photos, I am over it, new laptop will be bought in the next week and I bought an external hard drive too, I did learn a big lesson the hard way, luckilly my dad backed up all my photos 6 or 8 months ago to his external hd and I saved some to our desktop computer, so not all is lost.
