:00hour Don't know my highest bac in my life, but I am sure it was not this high :scared I would guess my highest was around .30 in college:mj06:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
A Sturgis woman had a blood-alcohol level of .708 percent, possibly a state record, when she was found earlier this month behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle parked on Interstate 90, according to Meade County State?s Attorney Jesse Sondreal.

A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper discovered Marguerite Engle, 45, on Dec. 1 passed out behind the wheel of a delivery truck reported stolen in Rapid City.

Her blood-alcohol level was almost nine times South Dakota?s legal limit of .08 percent.

Checks with local and state labs where blood-alcohol levels are tested suggest Engle?s reading may be the highest ever recorded in South Dakota, Sondreal said.

Sondreal said a state chemist recalled a sample that tested .53, but nothing higher, in his more than 30 years on the job.

Dr. Robert Looyenga, who recently retired from the Rapid City Police Department?s forensic laboratory, told Sondreal that the highest blood-alcohol sample he tested measured .56 percent.

Sondreal?s research indicates that a blood-alcohol level of .40 is considered a lethal dose for about 50 percent of the population.

?Engle?s was almost double that,? Sondreal said.

After she was found, Engle was hospitalized and freed on bond.

She failed to appear in court on Dec. 15, but Sturgis police located her Monday evening in another stolen car sitting in a ditch along S.D. Highway 34 near Fort Meade.

Engle was arrested for second offense driving under the influence and taken to jail.

Engle made her initial appearance in Meade County magistrate court Tuesday. She is being held without bond.

Sondreal said Engle has been living in a hotel after recently moving here from Minnesota.

Engle is most likely facing charges in Pennington County since both vehicles were stolen in Rapid City, Sondreal said.

More proof that the continued lowering of the "legal limit" really has no effect on the worst offenders.

Where it is real F ing COLD
That does seem unbelievable.. Holy fuck, how did she live...

Quick story...

Kid, 15 y/o male 90 lbs comes into the ER in a wheelchair and is being pushed by the receptionist. All of a sudden he starts to projectile vomit.. We put him on a hospital bed and start to IV him up and get fluids in him fast. This kid was lucky. He was suppose to meet some friends but was a no show.. The friends went to his house and found him lying a on the floor with a bottle of Vodka that was almost empty. Parents were hunting and thankfully one of the kids had a license.. They brought him to the ER, told the receptionist what happened and fled.. Back to this kid.. He was slipping in and out of conscienceness and was beligerent to all the female staff. He is saying, "just suck my dick." "Do you want to fuck?" and then he would pass out and wake up minutes later asking the same thing. I am kind of a jokster with the staff at work and I am laughing my ass off.. Some of the females were smirking too. I was telling them that this might be there last chance at young meat! May never get the offer again.. Funny, we sometimes have to keep it funny even though we know how serious the situation is.. So you know who was volunteered to place his catheter.. Yep, me the smart ass. Should of kept my mouth shut.. Kid's labs come back and he is at .43.. He was slipping in and out of conscienceness and then he quit waking up, quit asking for sexual favors, annd his eyes were fixating.. We intubated him and bagged him and he was eventually placed on a respirator. My shift ended shortly thereafter and the next day the kid was gone.. He was sent to the BIG HOSPITAL. The kid ended up living but he was lucky that a group of teenage friends decieded to check on him and better yet have the smarts to bring him to the hospital.. Many kids would not.. So everytime I read a story about lethal blood alcohol, I always think of that little 15 year old and how lucky he was..

Keith Whitley died of alcohol poisoning at 34 and his BAC was .47, plus he was an alcoholic so could handle more than most people. Your body is going to start shutting down at .4 so I have my doubts that person had that high and lived.

here is a guide for measuring that amount

I got a DUI in 1988...had 6 beers on the golf course then went to my buddies bar that always bought the first round for the golf league. I had 6 DOUBLE Crowns and me and my buddies used to flip for shots and had 6 rounds of shooters, all different and all different alcohol on top of the beer and Crown.

Didn't make it a 1/4 mile down the road and cops pull me over. Sorry fucker was hiding across the street from the bar and followed me out. Asked him why he pulled me over, he makes up that I swerved around a car and almost ran a cab off the road and I said that I was the only car on the road. Of course my word against that lying cocksucker.

Refused the breathalyzer so downtown I go and my phone call is to my buddy that worked for the Sheriffs Dept who asked me if I took the test and I said no, he says you should have and I am on the way. So I go take the test and over an hour later, I blow .22. My buddy that came to get me asks why I took the test, I said you told me too, he says I was passed out {he was at the bar too} and didnt know what I was saying. Gee thanks bud!

Now I am not saying that I was totally wrong for getting in that car and was obviously drunk. My point was I had THAT MUCH to drink and blew .22! 6 beers, 18-20 ounces of Crown and at least another 10-12 ounces liquor in shooters!

Now tell me how someone could register more than 3 TIMES that amount and I say no way!!!

Ohio but not a Buckeye
I remember one time going to McDonalds at about 5am in the morning and when I pulled up to pay there was a car in front of me. Then a worker comes out and says we have to pull around cuz there's someone sleeping in the car in front of us LOL(foot on break, not parked either). So I got out, banged on the window, and this lady jumps up, obviously hammered off her arse, and gets out of her car and is so out of it. Needless the say, I just tried to get her to call for a ride and pull her car into a parking spot. The worker called the police though.

By the way, for those of you trying to figure out the science with alcohol...

Had a lawyer tell me that the way it works is, for every 1 beer you drink, that's .02

Then you go from the last time you drank, and for every hour after the last drink(except the 1st hour) you minu .01 from your total.

So if you drank 8 beers, you'd have a BAC of .16 and if you got up 3 hours after your last beer and decided to drive, you'd have a BAC of .14....obviously there's a give or take a lilttle.

I was an alcoholic for years and had an unbelievable tolerance. Even so, my highest confirmed BAC was a .38 and that was completely wasted. While I'm sure I've been in the lower .40's a time or 2, I can't even begin to fathom anyone exceeding .50 and living to tell the tale, much less .708. :scared
