and soft crab poboy? Those Fergis look good too.

I want at least one fine dining place as well. I won't go to a place that requires a jacket. I'm always bum to casual :SIB

Let me hear the ideas.

I won't have any problem finding the night life :mj06:

I'm really looking forward to Sunday's Championship Game as well.

TIA

Staying Hilton Riverside. Is that walking distance to the action?

jack....

i don't know if the place is still there but you should try a restaurant called the "court of 2 sisters"....the best & biggest buffet that i ever saw with all of the new orleans goodies & a great dixie land jazz band....i must of stayed in this restaurant for 3-4 hours, which is unheard of for me but the food was that good....

enjoy....

I was there in August. Hit Acme Oyster's for good po'boys and oysters. Definately Mothers. Get there at 11 to avoid the line. Pascal Manale's is greatness. Very cool bar area when you're waiting to be seated. Get the shrimp. My wife had crab cake alfredo that was great also. I wanted to try a place called Jaquimo's (sp) but it was closed when I was there for remodeling. Take the trolley to Camelliia Grill for breakfast or a burger at lunch. It's a very cool diner in an old house. God I love that city!!!!!!!!!

Be sure to stop in at hotel Mont Leone and go into the cocktail bar just off the entrance. Have a seat and take a ride on the carousel-esque rotating bar. You meet the most social people in that bar... :0corn

Drago's oysters Rockerfeller are incredible! :00hour

The Hilton used to have a bar special called "Bugs and Mugs". 1 lb. crawfish - $2 and draft beer - $1.
It's a great place to stay and you'll be right in the heart of the action.

Definitely hit Mothers and have a beignet at Cafe du Monde for me!

Al's suggestion of the Court of Two Sisters is a good one. Like everyone else says, Mother's is a must and almost across the street from your hotel at Poydras and Tchoupitoulas. I would also recommend the Gumbo Shoppe on St. Peter, just around the corner from Jackson Square for the best roast beef poboy I've ever had.

Some very good suggestions. Nice job by all.

Al's suggestion of the Court of Two Sisters is a good one. .

I know the owners of this establishment, and there has been recent undeserved tragedy in the family. If you are interested in buffet style eating, it is a very good choice. Brunch here would be a good start for Sunday's festivities.

Mother's in unbeatable for lunch. A Ralph, which is a Ferdi w/ cheese, is what I normally have.

Oysters at Dragos are very good, and it is located in your hotel. Plus, I like to support this family because they served 75,000 free hot meals following Katrina.

Acme has great charbroiled and raw oysters to go along with cold beer.

Pascal's Manale is an old staple. Known for BBQ shrimp and oysters. I would recommend, but you will be cabbing it.

Galatoire's is great, but jacket is required after 5pm and on Sundays. Mr. B's is a delicious smart casual fine dining establishment, and is just a walk away from the Hilton.

A GREAT restaurant, if you are into seafood, is GW Fins. Fresh, wonderfully prepared seafood. Definite favorite of mine. Dress is smart casual.

If you and your wife want Italian that is local favorite, then Irene's in the heart of the quarter is a great choice. As i recall, there are no reservations, so go early. I know waiter there, so let me know if you decide you want to try this place.

was just reading some old threads about the restaurants too.

i'm really looking forward to this.

thanks again and keep em coming if you have more.

I do remember eating at the Court of Two Sisters on my only trip there. I do not remember the names of the other places but I wasn't disappointed in any of them.

thanks again.
