What we will hear--

Will be at least 3- "Let me be clear"

on economy- will be feeding us #'s that are hypothetical and unmeasurable----will avoid the real finite #'s in past year.

It won't be on- this is what we did-
--but what might have been--eg Take responsibilty for nothing.

on our security--
Rumor has it he scratched part about us being safer past year-ditto on transparency-doubt we get the bringing us together grift as was just polled most polarizing 1st year pres in history--doubt any bi-partisan spiel-skip the pork/washington as usual/no lobbyist in admin-- cons

On healthcare--I wonder--has he saw the light yet?

So expect since he has recalled his campaign speech writer he will spend most the speech on his area of expertise -rhetoric on what he will do in future--and avoid any stas of past year--other than what he inheirited. :)

Will be interesting to hear him tell how he is going to cut spending (remember that was campaign pledge on year ago also). Expect he will have generalizations and avoid specifics as before.

Global warming--hmm as with health care has he learned anything from new jersy-virginia and mass.

Maybe he could combine the global warming/budget cuts with this little bit of info

CBS News Investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports official filings and our own investigation show at least 106 people from the House and Senate attended - spouses, a doctor, a protocol expert and even a photographer.

Million Dollar Congressional Trip
Read the Congressional Expense Report

For 15 Democratic and 6 Republican Congressmen, food and rooms for two nights cost $4,406 tax dollars each. That's $2,200 a day - more than most Americans spend on their monthly mortgage payment.

--on second thought he might use above as example on aiding the middle class

DTB

DTB

How in the world does he find the time .
At least he is not on vacation all the time. Like the last great leader we had !!
Obama is on TV all the fucking time , this morning he is on the phone talking to the Kentucky basketball coach about their lost to South Carolina.
Is this the kind of SHIT that is supposed to make a person think he is like the rest of us , more of a regular guy.
How in this world can this piece of SHIT run the country if he has his nose stuck in front of the TV SET watching a ball game.
The country is doomed and here is why.If you just look at the last piece of shit we had for a president and look at what he left behind and now look at this buffoon. It's not a pretty picture is it !! Obama has done nothing, for one year he has accomplished nothing.
DTB .... while you are taking a good look at Obama and constantly complaining about the way he continues to carry out the same policies that Bush put in place , why not look ahead and tell me what is coming .
What will the corporate elite bring us in the next election.
You never complained about Bush and the fucking illegal wars and this is why I find it hard to pay much attention to a person that sees only the good in Republicans and nothing but the bad in the Democrats .

Hard times I have no problem with people beating up on Obama but at least get the facts right.

He did not call coach Cal about losing to carolina last night he called to thank him for the Haiti fundraiser he did.

I do not think he is watching hoops, I believe he is busy doing work but has mentioned he does have espn on when he does watch tv, nothing wrong with that.

Obama calls No. 1 Kentucky, thanks them for 'Hoops for Haiti' program

*

By Brett Dawson, The (Louisville) Courier-Journal
COLUMBIA, S.C. ? John Wall has faced late-game pressure in Rupp Arena and Madison Square Garden and shrugged it off.

On Tuesday, the University of Kentucky freshman finally faced a situation that cracked his cool demeanor. He spoke via speakerphone with President Obama.

"I'm still nervous and shocked about it right now," Wall said minutes after President Obama called the Wildcats to commend their "Hoops for Haiti" fundraising efforts last week.

He wasn't the only nervous one in a crowded media room at Colonial Life Arena, where the Cats and coach John Calipari gathered around a speakerphone for President Obama's call.

Prior to the call, Calipari asked repeatedly what button to press to answer the phone. He asked if anyone had tested to make sure it worked. When the phone finally rang, the Cats sprang to attention. When the call ended, there was an audible release of air as players relaxed.

President Obama told the Cats he was "honored to speak to the No. 1 team in the country," but his primary purpose in calling was to congratulate the Cats on the "Hoops for Haiti" program that raised more than $1 million for disaster relief efforts in Haiti, struck on Jan. 12 by a 7.0 earthquake.

UK players took phone calls from donors during a telethon on Jan. 17, and Calipari and a group of local businessmen contributed $500,000 to match fans' donations.

President Obama told the Cats that "everybody admires" the team's athleticism and dedication on the court.

"I just want to let you guys know that I'm very, very proud of what you guys did," President Obama said. "It shows a lot of character, and I hope that carries over. Some of you are going to be going to the NBA. Some of you are going to be doing other things in your lives, but I hope that spirit of doing for others continues, because each of you have been given a lot ? a lot of talent and a lot of opportunity. And to those to whom much is given, much is required."

Calipari and Wall each addressed President Obama, as did Patrick Patterson and DeMarcus Cousins.

Patterson told the president that "This 'Hoops for Haiti' means as much to us as winning a basketball game, and your leadership has inspired us all." Cousins told him that "What we really look forward to is seeing you at the end of the season."

"The way you guys are going, that may happen," President Obama said.

The longest exchange came between President Obama, famously a basketball fan, and Wall, the freshman phenom who's considered the likely No. 1 pick in June's NBA Draft.

After Wall, introduced himself, President Obama said, "What's going on, All-Star? I've been watching you."

"I'd like to invite you to Lexington for a game," Wall said. "And maybe if you get there early enough, we can play a little bit of HORSE."

Obama replied, "I'm not going to play HORSE with you. I don't want to lose, and then you'll have bragging rights for a long time. But what we might do is have a little scrimmage at some point, and I'm going to make sure that you're on my team. You're on my team, Patterson ? I'm going to hook it up so that I've got a chance."

The call ? which also included Congressman Ben Chandler? lasted about five minutes, after which Calipari thanked the President. After it ended, Calipari said simply, "Wow," before fielding questions from the media.

"I think it was a great thing, but it wasn't about (the players)," Calipari said. "It wasn't about getting a call from the president. We had no idea, but trying to do something good with good people, that's the kind of stuff that usually comes out from it."

Tonight when he gets his whines like a little bitch about supreme court allowing businesses to donate to political campaigns--

remember his promises during campaign that he renigged on.:SIB

--and his stance on (unions and trial attorneys) in same spot he uses business analogy --not only condones them doing it but taking our taxes -bailing them out -then giving them ownership as reward for bankrupting said companies.

Now if that don't make you want to jump up and bitch slap the groveling grifter--nothing will. :)

Sorry about that , my mistake on the content of the phone call . I just saw a few seconds of the phone conversation as I was scanning the channels this morning... I presumed and I shouldn't do that , should I .
I'm glad you put me straight on this issue and your posting of the phone conversation, now that I know more about it, then it seems as if the ball playing Obama would rather play a pick up game than do his fucking job and get the country back on track , you know like working for THE PEOPLE.

Listen again I will state that I have no problem with people bashing what Obama has not done yet, or the campaign promises he has broken.

But to say all he does is play ball is horseshit.

Being the president is the most stressful job ever, look at ever president when he takes office and then look at him a year later, every president ages rapidly.

Every president takes breaks plays golf runs etc, if he were to just stay working the whole time without allowing a little time to exercise whatever he be dead in a month.

I completely agree - very few jobs are as stressful as President of the US, especially during a recession/depression.

While I am no Obama fan, I do realize that everyone needs some down time to relax. If he wants to take a couple of hours in the evening to watch hoops, more power to him.

I tried arguing this the other day with DTB, until he clearly showed how he is willing to trash the GOP as well. :mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

Two quick personal observations -

1. I hope to hell he brings up the recent Supreme Court ruling allowing corporations to fund political campaigns and shows that he has a problem with it. As an individual voter, I have a BIG problem with it - a corporation is not the same as an individual, and last time I checked, a corporation cannot vote for a President, or Senator, or any public official. Voting for our public officials is a personal thing, individual thing, and corporations, in my opinion, do not have individual personal rights to free speech and voter influence. Other than paying these people under the table, which is another issue - which NOW can be completely above board.

2. As posters on a gambling/sports related board, I would think it strange that people would find it a bad thing our elected leader has an appreciation for sports, and in such a positive, strong way. To say he doesn't have a right to spend an hour a day playing basketball to keep in shape, or vacation a reasonable amount and play golf while on vacation, or take an active role publicly in sports - when he clearly has an appreciation and understanding of it - is just political and petty.

It's not like he's setting a record for vacation days or anything, and chasing tumbleweeds on a ranch or something for a surprising percentage of the year, or anything like that.

I like it that my President is a sports fan, a real sports fan, and can sometimes be a real person from time to time. And not be absent from the White House for a record period of time, that kind of thing, and just use other peoples money to affiliate himself with sports, like some other Presidents have done.

And, for the record, I don't think unions should be able to use member dues to pay for political campaigns, if I have a problem with corporations doing it. But I certainly don't think letting more money into the process is a positive thing, and this is one of the reasons I voted for Obama - to ensure against a further lopsided Supreme Court - which doesn't serve ANY of our best interests. We've now seen what a 5-4 majority can do, let alone a 6-3 or more...

Can anyone explain to me why they think the recent Supreme Court ruling is a positive thing to each of us as an individual? I'm sure there are good reasons, I just don't see them yet. Especially if you complain about politicians being bought and only being in their positions for personal gain, eventually.
