Just prompting the Joker to create his first video review. :) :) :)

Engaging movie with simple story to tell.

Posted about this in June but would like to get everyone's thoughts as well...

Saw this movie the other night about bomb tech specialists. Looks pretty much dead on (from a civilian point of view) to what it would be like in the Middle East.

Very cool movie.

PLOT:
Iraq. Forced to play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in the chaos of war, an elite Army bomb squad unit must come together in a city where everyone is a potential enemy and every object could be a deadly bomb.

Watched this yesterday afternoon. First, I don't really care for war movies, just so you know.

I lasted for an hour and 15 minutes of the 2 hour plus movie. BORING, except for a few scenes.

Not for me.

Also did not like the filming. It looked like a soap opera or those flicks that people film with a CAM.

thumbs down.

I love war flicks but thought was just a solid war flick.
Keep hearing talk of possible Oscar noms.
I don't get it.

Then I watched Eden Lake and was much more entertained :mj07:

A couple goes for a romantic weekend at some secluded lake and run into some crazy teenagers that decide to terrorize them. I was on the edge of my seat and kinda liked it :SIB

Maybe you can create an Oscar buzz for it.

I liked it a lot. It was a pretty interesting spin on the war that really has never been filmed before. The cameos by Guy Pierce and Ralph Fiennes and the Kate chick from Lost were pretty cool too. The main character in the film was great but I don't recall ever seeing him in a film.

The film has been in Oscar talks for a while and I think it will get a few nods. It was a good drama but nothing great. I'm more surprised that Inglorious Basterds has gotten so much hype in Oscar talk as I thought it was a cool entertaining movie but not typically an award type one.

god,that breaks me up....

.i always thought you couldn`t nail me to a chair and make me watch this tripe...but,then i read a few imdb reviews and realized that it was intended as over-the-top camp.....

i might give it a whirl when it hits cable...

btw...brad pitt`s name in the film is "aldo raine"?.... ..http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=112068891

Well the main black guy was Anthony Mackie. He will always be "Papa Doc" to me from 8 Mile.
Also was Shawrelle in Million Dollar Baby played Clint's boxer who screwed him over.

As for the white guy, Jeremy Renner. He was in North Country and 28 Weeks Later so nothing major to speak of.

Papa Doc!! DAMN! That was driving me insane while watching, and I didn't want to look it up.
