How about this for a week???

Get totally blindsided and get my position at work eliminated earlier this week. Do about 3.5 million $ worth of business for the company, top 10-15 in terms of revenue, hit quota last year, have about 70% MS, won company trip also in 2008 being in the top 20 all while my wife was dying. About 40% of sales force cut. Highest paid and good bye.

Last night, my grandfather passed. A brutal thing to watch and I could not witness it anymore and left before he died.

Some where or some way my luck has to get better, right? I mean, "come on man?". WTF?

I have heard similar stories and don't get it. The dismissal procedures for some companies baffle me.

If a person is bringing in more profit than they cost, it is normally a bad move to dismiss them.

Update, and for those that care. I wasn't out of work for long, actually found a new job in the same profession roughly a week after I got let go from the other company. I won the war, got bonus-vacation pay-severance and didn't miss a beat. The opportunity is way better, still selling products in surgeries and trauma settings with a lot more $$ to be made.

For once something went my way, although I make sure I look up every morning to make sure the anvil doesn't fall from the sky and never open anything that says ACME product name on it.
