I have to admit, when I think of places to stay in Vegas TI doesn't exactly spring to mind. The only time I've been in the casino was when I was 21. I remember thinking it was pretty nice, but that's mostly due to the fact that I was staying at Circus Circus at the time. For those of you who haven't stayed at Circus Circus imagine the Turkish prison from Midnight Express, but remove the ambience. Oh, and Randy Quaid and John Hurt probably won't be your roommates, either.

At any rate, there seem to be some good deals for TI going on (unless I'm a dolt and missed something in the fine print, which is absolutely possible) now. Has anyone ever stayed in the hotel? I'm not looking for luxury, just something decent. Opinions?

TI is great for the price of it as a strip resort, look at planet hollywood also, there is never a need to pay a ton on the strip hell you not in room that much and if you are and not leaving resort grounds the wynn or city center is only way to go, but why would someone want to stay in 1 place while in vegas so go for best price and walk to the places that cost more. people are in room to sleep and that should be it or fuk. So never pay for 5* resort in vegas a waste of cash. You will like TI. CC is for famlies that is what it was built for.

Awesome. Thanks for the info, Fletcher. Yeah, I looked at Planet Hollywood and a few others as well. I was only asking about TI because that one seems to have the best deal (at least for what I'm looking for).

Circus Circus is definitely for families, but what I couldn't stand was the non-existent ventilation system. I think I picked up emphysema after being in there for about 5 minutes. :sadwave: It was bruuuuutal. Not sure if they upgraded the system because that was back in the mid-90's. I sure as hell hope so...

Circus is a dump. Me and the wife strolled through there last year and it was not good. I know I wouldn't stay there.

I went to Treasure Island and walked around as well. The casino was dead. I left after 5 minutes. I stayed at the Venetian. Little more pricey but very nice. The suites are awesome. The one good thing about Treasure is that it is right by all the action. Everything is within walking distance.

I didn't venture down towards Hard Rock, Lexur or Excalibur area. Too much going on in the Venetian area.

No need to since Lux and Excal are filthy - especially Excal. No where near as bad as Circus though - Lux is nicer of the two.

If you want down and dirty vegas - Bill's Wild Gamblin hall, Imperial and Casino Royal (and Flamingo for the most part) are great D&D casinos.

Go to Circus Circus after several cocktails, around 10 pm, and yell GODZILLA,GODZILLA,GODZILLA ! :scared yeah, I know, it's kind of a fucked up thing to do.... but the place is so filled up with smoke no one will be able to tell or see who said it. :mj07:

So. Cal
only stay at venetian (of course i ge comped there, so hard not to stay there)

have stayed at TI and it's okay.

wasnt a big fan of the sportsbook or the casino floor (only play blackjack or craps)....reminded me of hard rock in that it was impossible to win.

the nightlife and clubs were good and the pool was okay.

could do better.....but could do MUCH worse.

not sure why anyone would ever stay at excalibur, circus circus, IP, stratosphere

I stayed at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay last time and loved it. Its a bit too far off the strip. Wish it was a little more where the action was, but it was a great place to stay.

Where it is real F ing COLD
I have stayed at TI,, didn't mind it at all. Have stayed at the Statosphere and Riviera for dart tourneys.. When I was 21 a group of us stayed at the Westward Ho:scared They sent me a bunch of comped rooms before they tore it down but didn't take em up on it.. THe one thing I like about that end of the strip are the drinks at slots of fun.. Oh and I miss the sportsbook at the Stardust.. I loved it in there.. TI's sportsbook sucks.. I like ESPNs, and the Stratospheres.. Riviera sportsbook sucks. They won't even give you a drink ticket when placing a wager. Harrahs and Ceasar's palace odds kind of suck for baseball.. Hi vig.. Have to check out the Monte Carlo next time..

Thanks for the responses, fellas. Some good advice fo sho.

Joker - You're right. There's a ton of WT at Circus Circus. I suppose what I should have said is the PERCEPTION is that Circus Circus is for families. I remember the last time I was there thinking "this sure as hell isn't what I expected." But hey, there was one of those bouncy ball playrooms for kids, so that somehow makes up for the walls of smoke that cascade through the joint.

As for the comments about the Venetian, I love that place. The casino is pretty damn impressive. I will definitely be staying there during one of my next visits, just probably not this one.

That Monte Carlo deal looks pretty good too. I've heard from a few different people that MC is a very underrated casino. I honestly can't remember if I've ever been in it.

Thanks again...
