I was in an accident this morning and I'm pretty sure my truck is totaled. When I was talking to the insurance lady I asked her about how they figure out how much I will get paid if it's totaled. She told me they don't go by the Kelley Blue Book value, they go by recent sales in the area for similar vehicles.

I am already applying the KY to my anal area, because I know I'm going to get screwed.

I'm not expecting a fortune, because my truck had a lot of miles, but it was in good shape.

It is a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer LS, 186,000 miles...

any thoughts or advice?

Thanks

be thankful you were not injured and walked away

you will more than likely receive $ 3,400.00 tops

its just one of them things in life where you lose your vehicle and there aint a damn thing you can do about it.

If you've had any major repairs or improvements to the vehicle in the last 6 months or so, be sure to make the adjuster aware of them and have copies ready to present. It may help boost the value they assess.

yeah, you`re pretty much screwed on the value of your vehicle...

not as badly as i was...i had a 1 year old pathfinder with around 3500 miles on it......was t-boned coming out of a mall parking lot...vehicle was totalled.....lady on a cell phone ran the light..

bought the vehicle up front...it was paid off .. i lost thousands on the value of the vehicle...and what i got in settlement for my injuries(they were minor, luckily),didn`t make it up....

so i lost money...

it sucks.... i know from personal experience...
