here is an update and answers..
I recently stopped taking the meds..they help w/the slow stream and the constant having to go but they don't cure the cronic pain associated with the enlarged prostate..Doc said if ya don't mind the slow pissing then ok..
it's not that difficult..just frustrating that it takes 5 to 10 times longer to piss.
Early stages were 15 trips a day to piss..but that eased up a lot w/the meds..
If that junk returns I will consider going back on the meds..
I urge everyone to have the exam and please don't delay seeing a doc when it comes to the plumbing..

can't imagine more pain than it causes already..but I will certainly consider it[surgery] so when I semi-retire I can fish without screaming for help.

whicjh meds wwere you taking?....what were the side effects?...
m.d. put me on some non-prescription supplements and imo,they do more harm than good...
when i take the non-prescrip stuff,i get some groin pressure...and bloating...it`s not comfortable...and doesn`t really appear to help urine flow...sometimes it`s just a dribble(here come the jokes..lol)
i`m worried about 2 things...urine backing up into the kidney....and that the meds skew your sex drive...some of these meds(from what i`ve read) are testosterone blockers(flomax/avodart)...also would be worried about the ability to keep lean muscle mass if the testosterone is being blocked....

Also told me NO ALLERGY MEDICATION WITH "D" in it - such as Claratin D.
This has adverse effect on your prostrate.

GW...it took me 3 years and changing specialist 4 times to get a Doc who had the patience to listen to me explain the same crap you are going thru..Luckily I finally got a Doc who listened to all the previous "this it whats wrong" and he got the meds right and fully explained the facts of life when dealing w/ Chronic prostatitis/enlarged prostate..slow stream..difficulty pissing..and all the crap that comes with getting older as a man....
aint nothing funny about this stuff..the misery and pain w/this junk aint nothing to laugh at..

Saw Palmetto.
Get a good concentration 85% fatty acids 300+ milligrams.
Sam's has a good Members Mark product with zinc and pumpkin seed oil 200 softgels for 13.95.
The health food stores will sell you on a comparable product for 2-3 times the money.
I take 3 or 4 once a day, (started at twice a day), has made a big difference in symptoms.
Virtually NO side affects...doctors push drugs.

i find that when i don`t have the urge,if i go into the bathroom and push a little i can squeeze 2 or 3 oz out.....wacked out around 9 oz in the last hour.....
just want to keep the urine moving until i get back to the urologist....

Yes it helps - all I know is - no pain - no more middle of the night bullshit and no more weak stream.
BY THE WAY!!!!!!!! Doc said I should drink beer more often NO FUCKING KIDDING!!!!!!!!!! He did say - BEER NOT WINE - NOT HARD LIQUOR - BEER and not like a 12 pack a day either - he said 3 is a good number.
I didn't ask why - but I piss perfect on Flomax and Beer. Try it.
