"the bunker"
made mine A LOT faster

Where it really fixed me is on boot up. It was lagging before and now it's instant. My computer and internet have always been fast. faster on opening a new window too.

i have issues......scans don`t show anything...but i`m getting way too many blue screens and freezes....

just went in and uninstalled a bunch of crap to free up space....i gett a buzzing sound through my speakers also(like something is shorting out)...

does the "favorites" list store all that crap on your computer taking up space?...or is it just a listing?....anybody know?...

Weasie, I'm no computer expert but it sounds like you have much bigger issues if you're getting "the blue screen of death" and you're computer is freezing up a lot.

Like I said, I'm sure there are a lot of people on here who could diagnose the problem better than I could, but you may want to have someone take a look at it.

g.quag...how`s `bout the "favorites" question?.....does having numerous favorites take up space...or is it just a listing?....

thanks...

It doesn't take up much space at all. It should tell you from your windows explorer folder. It isn't much.

Yep, Jack nailed it. Favorites shouldn't use up much space at all. And again, just to be clear, I'm FAR from a computer expert. I know there are others on here who are a lot smarter than I am when it comes to this stuff. It just seems like, based on what you're saying, it sounds like you might be passed the stage of "fixing it" by running AVG or another program.

Also, as far as space goes, it's good to 'defrag' your files from time to time, IMO. I'm not saying it will magically fix your problem now, but it's a good to way to free up some space.

EDIT: Forgot to include a link:

One thing I forgot to ask Wease -- are you having any issues with your computer overheating (i.e. shutting down on it's own while you're using it)? If that's happening, I think that would indicate a hard drive issue.

I only ask because of you mentioning the 'blue screen.' In the past when I got the blue screen it was because my hard drive was fried and I had to get it replaced...

Gotcha. Sounds like the hard drive is probably fine then. The computer would definitely be hot to the touch if it was overheating, at least in my experience.

one thing that drives me crazy...sometimes i get that blue spinning circle when it`s trying to connect to a website....it goes on for quite awhile....i get the "do you want to shut down this tab" thingee...and sometimes, that`s when it freezes and crashes....

i definitely need to get somebody in here....but i doon`t trust these s.o.b.`s....i know they`ll want to take the thing.....then they can look at any damned thing they want.....

No way weasie will let someone have his computer overnight or longer to fix it. No way :nono:

Didn't you destroy a hard drive about a year ago? What was up with that? Was that a drive for this computer, the one you're having problems with?

:142smilie Yeah, they will definitely want to keep it overnight. Actually, to freak Weasie out even more, it could be a week or more before he gets it back, depending on how busy they are. They need plenty of time to transfer his funds to an account in the Cayman Islands, then cover their tracks, then get fakes IDs made, etc. :SIB

I'm not sure what to tell ya, Weasie. Something is bogging your computer down, but I'm not sure what.

Since I like to obsess over things, I wonder if it's as simple as just needing more memory? If you've had the computer for a while, I think that's a possibility.

No, I remember you describing your difficulties in destroying that hard drive.

I have one that's been on my desk from the computer I retired about 8 months ago and I think of you everytime I look at the damn thing.

I use it for a paper weight.

Take a look...
