Hmm don't know how you could have missed it--but worth repeating

GW NEVER missed Arlinton that I am aware of--and I could give Snapperhead (Gumby) a pass if was important reason to miss-
Hmmm... don't know how you could have missed it DTGumby, but it's worth repeating.

GW DID miss Arlington in 2002 while traveling in Europe.

Like I said, I'm not defending Obama on this one. Just pointing out your hypocrisy. :0008

OMG...The 1st President in history not to attend and lay a wreath @ the tomb of the unknown soliders....maybe he didn't like how the cadets responded to him at west point when he called himself the one w/ABSOLUTE power...He hates the military...look at his record....this so called learder just gave away the presidency....he is out...He just shit on the families of fallen soldiers...you cant tell me ur proud of this. Oh wait Joe Biden is going instead LMAO....Then Obama is going to attend a Paul McCartney concert...wow....you cant pee on my back Obama and call it rain.....you just pissed away everything....Why he did this I have no idea....maybe some 1 can explain?
Obama thinks this will go unoticed. Boy is he wrong. This goes right to the core of what he stands for. My wife and I visited the Veitnam memeorial in Angel Fire N.M. today to pay our respects to the fallen soldiers and he being the commander and Chief he blows this duty out of respect for all our fallen soldiers. :sadwave: Un fucking real. I don't care who the hell you are u can't defend this action.

Obviously, it hasn't gone unnoticed. And Obama should be paying his respects at Arlington this weekend, no doubt about it.

But in the big picture, there are worse crimes, like...gee... I dunno... engineering the worst economic collapse since the 1930's, being asleep at the switch while terrorists plotted, then killed 3000 Americans, then needlessly sending more than 5000 Americans to their death, 32,000 more to serious injury and spending $1 Trillion of taxpayer money on an illegal war.

I doubt you've once considered any of those actions to be "Un fucking real" though.

It's amazing to me that this thread is still going, with only blame for Obama, with people saying they haven't seen anything different. The proof has been posted in this thread by myself and others, showing Obama's actions are almost exactly like Bush Sr.'s actions, and Bush Jr's actions, among other Presidents. Just because you either don't notice it, or don't acknowledge facts put in front of you, doesn't make them nonexistent.

Obama is doing what other Presidents have done - republicans, and democrats. Period.

Now, if you don't believe facts and the truth, then so be it. That's nothing different for this forum, either.

Carry on... :0074

Thunder, lightning stop Obama Memorial Day speech

? Mon May 31, 3:57 pm ET
ELWOOD, Illinois (Reuters) ? President Barack Obama's Memorial Day observance was stopped in its tracks on Monday by a torrential downpour accompanied by bolts of lightning and booming thunder.

Obama thrilled the crowd at Abraham Lincoln National Ceremony by appearing under an umbrella as the rain poured down. But he did not deliver his prepared remarks honoring troops who died fighting for the United States.

Instead he urged the crowd to seek shelter.

"We don't want to endanger anyone, particularly the children, in the audience. A little bit of rain doesn't hurt anybody, but we don't want anybody struck by lightning," he said from the podium, the storm so loud his words could barely be heard through the amplifiers.

As it became obvious that the storm was not going to ease, aides said Obama would not make his speech. Instead, he climbed onto buses where the crowds had taken shelter to greet the drenched members of the public.

Obama was able before the storm to quietly lay a wreath at another part of the cemetery, and then stood, his head bowed, as a bugler played "Taps."

The president last year marked Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery, just outside Washington, where most presidents have laid wreaths on the national holiday. But this year he visited the cemetery about 50 miles southwest of Chicago, where he has been spending the long holiday weekend at his family home with his wife and daughters.

Vice President Joe Biden attended the ceremonies at Arlington in Obama's stead.

After the aborted event at the cemetery, Obama drove back toward Chicago, where he stopped to visit with families of troops and veterans being treated at a Veterans' Hospital just outside the city.

Aides said Obama met with families, including many children, posed for pictures, toured the facility and ate a bratwurst and baked beans that had been made for a Memorial Day barbeque.

Obama spoke at a Memorial Day ceremony in Elwood in 2005, when he was an Illinois senator.

Condolences on your grandmother.

What part of this do you not understand?

1983: Reagan attended summit meeting; Defense Department official Thayer laid wreath at Arlington. Deputy Secretary of Defense W. Paul Thayer laid a wreath at Arlington Cemetery during the Memorial Day ceremony in 1983, according to a May 31, 1983, Washington Post article (accessed via Nexis). The AP reported that President Reagan attended a "summit meeting in Williamsburg, Va., with leaders of the industrialized democracies."

1992: George H.W. Bush allowed VP Quayle to lay wreath. In 1992, Vice President Dan Quayle laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, according to a May 26, 1992, Boston Globe article (accessed via the Nexis database). The Globe reported that President George H.W. Bush attended a wreath-laying ceremony and made brief remarks at an American Legion hall in Kennebunkport, Maine, where he also played a round of golf.

Skeeter, sorry for your grandmother issues - that's always tough. Good luck with that.

You are ripping those of us who don't share your opinion about Memorial Day and Obama, and criticizing where we got our info. Where did you get your info, other than Savage, perhaps? I've seen several sources stating other president's missing - the most glaring being Bush Sr. who never went to Arlington once.

Please read the Snopes article - it's a site debunking misconceptions and inaccuracies. I note Wayne hasn't been back, so I'd guess he realizes he wasn't completely informed by using his usual sources. Again - where did you get your information?

It's comforting to know that Skeeter and Michael Savage are there to set us all straight.

P.S. Condolences on your grandmother Skeeter.

I will always admit when I am wrong. So I went and checked my source again and it was me who made the mistake of reading it incorrectly. Sorry for the misleading info. You guys are correct. I want to say thx to the fellas giving condolences to my grandmother. She is 93 and has dementia. It's very tough on the family to see the most giving and caring person in the world fall to this disease.
