Get yourself 2000-3000 grackles. They will take care of the worms, no problem.

I got a problem with grubs. Their attracting one vibrant ass mole. Its killing the second level of my back yard. Am I correct in that to get rid of the mole I have to kill its food source (grubs) first?

That's what I did and the moles are gone.

Get a product called "Merit". I think its supposed to be the best and you should apply it when the grubs are closest to the surface, probably sometime in June or July. I would think whoever sells it should be able to give you that answer.

I have been told that moles also eat worms along w/ grubs. Best way to get rid of them, from a former groundskeeper for the KC Royals, is to get some Juicy Fruit gum, (do this w/o getting your scent on the gum), break the stick in half, roll it up long ways to make it look like a grub, poke a hole in one of their runs, and put the gum in the hole. The mole will eat it and die. :0008

Hi guys, the best products I have ever used to control grubs were Merit and Mach 2.

Both of these products work best when applied just before the grubs hatch. Here in mid Missouri that is around the 3rd week of July. So basically they need put down at the start of summer.

Both of these products should give season long control. The grubs are much easier to kill as they are hatching, and both of these should be applied before they hatch.

Grub control was the most expensive product I put down, neither of these are cheap, but effective.

If your grubs have already hatched and growing, go with a product called dylox. It will kill what you have at the present time, but it doesn't have much residual strength. Then go with one of the above the next year.

The main problem with treating for grubs is the chemical you put down is probably going to be specific for grubs. Meaning there is no all purpose insecticide that will control everything. If you have cut worms, sod web worms or just fleas and ticks the good grub stuff won't work.

Ben the above sort of applies to you. To control moles stop their food source and they will leave,
I liked to make them leave in a trash can. If they are making runs they are easy to catch. Step down all their runs and find out where they are active. Buy one of those spring loaded traps and set it in an area they are working. They are constantly going back and forth checking their runs, if you set it in the right spot you will catch them in a day.

If they are the burrowing type spray and hope.

What ever you go with read the label. It is there for a reason. If a little is good a little more is not necessarily better.

What ever you use it will need to be watered in. The product needs to get down in the top inch of soil. So don't put it down until you can water, and definately not before a 3 inch rain.
