One place you can check here for real facts, versus biased crap, would be below:

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/

They list all of Obama's promises and current record on those promises. Other than that, several lists have been placed on this forum, some choose to ignore they ever existed.

They also fact check congressmen, etc.

Still waiting DTB... :0corn

Do you know a way out of a $13 Trillion hole that economists don't?

Btw DTB, your grammar needs a little work but you spelled every word correctly as well... :toast:

Absolutely know a way-- get rid of you people who think the tax payers owe them cradle to grave benefits--we don't owe you a damn thing-- You never saw a tax or a social program you didn't like--and then can't figure out how liberals gets tax and spend tag.

Give me one state--I'll call it Waynes World and as gov I'd make the following rules.

--felons 2 strikes and your out here
--welfare--benefits will be cut in half and one dependent only unless disable
--Aids- will be yearly mandatory physical paid by the state-and those testing positive will be publically listed.
--and since all citizens have always been expected to show indentity (drivers license) if you think cause you can't speak english gives you pass under profiling whiners -forget it--and you might want to bring it to voting poll with you.
--politicians have same health benefits and pension as state workers-no 4 years and golden parachute.

Those were just a few things I'd implement on day one.

It is certain we'd thin out the felons-welfare whores-and illegals--as they would migrate to the "sanctuary states "--we'd cut back on biggest health expense and the gay community would be protected from unknown carriers.

--and you could show your base the green pastures--provided by your tax dollar--

That's a nice little plan ya got for "Wayne's World" there DTB but it in the REAL WORLD, it would have only a minor impact on budget deficits and do NOTHING to address our $13 Trillion in National Debt.

It's pretty apparent Jabbers was right all along. You really don't understand the difference between budget defecits and debt. So you don't have any ideas whatsoever then on how to address the National Debt. That's all you needed to say. Like the Republicans in Congress, you point fingers and play the blame game, but offer NO SOLUTIONS.

You see DTB, if I actually used a spell-checker, it would have caught the fact that I misspelled the word "deficits" above. I guess that blows another one of your theories, eh? Oh well, at least you've still got your chart. I have no doubt we haven't seen the end of that. :142smilie

I'd be happy to answer that Scott.

In the entire history of the world--communicable diseases have been fought via identify/isolate and treat.

If you were going looking for the most proficient for way to spread a disease- I could not think of better way than to keep all carriers anonymous and let them travel unrestricted.

Thats exactly what the PC police have done--

If I was gay or a IV drug user I'd sure like to see the list--and it would certainly save many people--of course -apparently stopping the spreading of aids isn't/hasn't been primary objective --its privacy of the carriers--go figure:shrug:

When it comes expanding deficit I certainly am not giving Rebs a pass--GW and admin had their RX social progam--both parties give billions of foreign aid to countries that continuously vote against us in UN--and speaking of UN--why are we biggest contributor--

It's time tax payors had some say of how their dollars are spent--

--and I don't want mine going to pay for
--welfare recipients by trade
--paying people to buy cars
--paying people to buy houses
--paying for mortages of others
--paying for others healthcare
--paying for 99 weeks of unemployment
--paying for $100,000 pensions for gov employees
--paying for auto co and giving them back to unions than ran them in ground in 1st place
ETC ETC ETC

Was a time not long ago when land of opportunity didn't mean--free ride

The time is coming when the productive that work every day to pay their mortage-have healthcare and save for the future--get tired of having to pack you and your base--and that time is in the very near future.

I wouldn't argue for a second there isn't a lot of wasteful spending in government but you're still avoiding my question.

While the spending cuts you're talking about would have an impact on the budget deficit, they would do NOTHING to pay down our National Debt. So one more time...

How would you solve the National Debt problem? :0corn

The problem with guys like you is you want to cut all programs that don't benefit you personally. I don't personally benefit from any entitlement programs and never have but I understand there are people in this country who have so little and their needs are much greater than mine. Providing for those people is what defines a great country, not the number of smart bombs we can drop on third world nations who have the misfortune of having bad leaders.

While we're on that subject, since you're so concerned about budget deficits, what would you cut from our $600 Billion "Defense" budget? Surely you don't believe a country with $13 Trillion in debt should be outspending the rest of the world combined on military spending, do you?

This is the point i've been trying to make. Why do we spend money on a foreign policy that makes no sense? We can't afford it and it only creates more hatred towards us. Think about all that money we spend on war. Compare it to unemployment and welfare and its a joke. Its just a joke.

Good points.I would rather throw money around to keep this country safe than put it into a system that encourages doing nothing meaning its ok to loathe.

While I do believe in welfare and every person needs help in some way eventually but at what cost? There needs to be a solid reason on why you need assistance. One would be single mom for example. We disagree on the military spending so no need to comment further.

By "we guys" --I assume you mean folks that are responsible-- eg work-live within a budget and pays their bills .

Would you like description of the you guys that these benefits are a way of life?.

The only way to reducing deficit is getting budget in the black--and

1st is cutting out deficit spending--like the huge debt we will tack on will healthcare fiasco covering 30 million deadbeats/illegals.

2nd step cut back on freebees for non tax payors=welfare. Unemployment-medicare-ssn --would tied to amount each individual contributred--those collecting freebees would be required to do community services to qualify.

3rd step--Cut off all foreign aid to countries that are not our direct allies and use saving to go directly to pay off debt.

4th step reduced pay and pensions of federal employees to no more than 10% above privite sector.

5th step remove ceiling for ssn tax---and use excess to shore up snn fund that politicians robbed previously. Those ceo's and athletes would add up fast.

6th step Have real pay as you go.budget for year is set per previous year tax revenue. Any % congress votes above ceiling --their pay will be cut that year by same %.

7th step These personal abuses by politicians would end. Will use Pelosi recent new office budget of $18,736 and rebs as well would end.
Give them each $2,500 alotment --anything over they foot tab.

on your defence spending

I think this is primary responsible of Gov. It is only thing that every american relies on.

The entitlements are basically used by what was once small part of society. As benefits grew--the freeloading base expanded and our social engineering encourages it.
Case in point O and company trying to put people back to work--then want to expand benefits of not working to 99 weeks.

--bottom line -We need leader that will have balls to say --we are going to have to cut back--vs telling us what new benefits were are going to get-for our votes-
-and can't see that happening.

Yes, we could cut entitlement spending but those cuts alone would not even balance the budget, so they would do nothing to pay down our national debt.

When the budget was signed into law on October 28, 2009, the final size of the Department of Defense's budget was $680 billion, $16 billion more than President Obama had requested. An additional $33 billion supplemental bill to support the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was expected to pass in the spring of 2010, but has been delayed by the House of Representatives after passing the Senate. Defense-related expenditures outside of the Department of Defense constitute between $216 billion and $361 billion in additional spending, bringing the total for defense spending to between $880 billion and $1.03 trillion in fiscal year 2010.

So then, you wouldn't cut anything from the $1 Trillion in "defense" related expenditures. Nor would you consider a consumption tax to address our national debt. OK then, so once again we've established that you have NO ANSWERS to our debt problem.

Thanks. :0008

Primary point you miss is increased defense spending is generally tied to wars--we recovered from deficit of both world wars -korean-vietnam and Iraq expense now diminishing as will Iran at some time.

The social benefits have two things in common--expenses are always lowballed intially and escalate yearly--show me just one that hasn't.

Case in point--all these countries greece-spain and others going under aren't from defense spending--they are from social engineering.

Chart below will how spending diminishes after wars--

We'll wait on your chart of any social program diminishing - that should put end to that discussion.

Gumby didn't quad deficit with defense spending --he did it with expanding gov and entitlements.
