Went to make a copy for the wife. My HP1410 went through the motions but no ink went on the paper. I click on HP in my programs and it says empty.
WTF?

Went to HP Support to download any new drivers. They check my printer and say the printer is not for computers using Vista, only XP and lower.

WTF? I've had this printer for four years and Vista for 2? years and never had a problem with it.

I remove my printer programs and re-install them again. I got the same message.

So off I go to Office Depot and shell out $80 for a new model HP F4480 which is exactly the same as the old one except this one is black with different software and ink cartridges. This one also doesn't come with a USB cable ($14) but my old one is OK.

Bingo! Back in business!

ain't that something...

I'm guessing there was a far easier solution.
