The price of a PC and a MAC are the same.

PC - $750

MAC - $1500

Three to four years later - you will need another $750 PC.

The mac - three to four years later will be running at the same speed and quality.

But in three years, the $750 PC will only be $250, correct?

Another $750 PC (or another $1500 MAC) will be 3-5 times better than the one three years earlier.

And I'm not sure how long you've been on Macs, but the majority of the people that I see who use them as avidly (not just surfing web) as you are replacing theirs every 3 years as well.

And I don't want this to come off that I am a Mac-hater. I do hate the blindness that I see with Mac fanboys, but Macs are great if you have the disposable income. I don't get viruses because I'm not a moron on a computer, so I can't justify the cost that way.

Holy crap, I didn't even know they made Dells that expensive. :scared

Did it come with DVR and a built-in cup holder?

You can spend more than I did. The fastest, the most, the best, just keep adding shit when you're building it. I don't think they had 27" monitors when I got my 24" but I'm happy with that. Bose surround system, you name it.

I just went the cheapy route and got a $500 Dell. I don't need anything too fancy cuz I only use the computer for e-mail, Word, Excel and Internet. I did have to take it in once to get the hard drive replaced, but it was under warranty so that was free. 4 years later and it hasn't crapped out on me... yet. :00x11

I think apple is the only one with a 27"

I got a dell too it gives the most bang for ur buck.

I guess I just had to try the mac it was $1999.00 plus $100.00 off a free $100.00 printer & a free 8gb ipod touch that I sold for $150

an all in one 23" hp was $1399.00

You can get a really nice desktop computer for less than $1000, for sure. (Or $999.50 if you're counting) ;)

I recommend Asus.

jhawk you are way off base with your software comment.

i have never had trouble finding any software for a mac. every popular program out there is also available for macs.

and if you happen to find some weird program you need that is windows only, you can always just install windows with the windows parallel and run it on there.

i had always used a pc up until 3 years ago when i got a mac. will never buy another pc.

i seriously cant think of a single advantage the pc had over the mac.

I hope thats true. I go through laptops every year. I'm not kidding. I'm about 6 months into my first Mac and it is still running great.

For a guy who has never owned a mac - sounds like you're the expert. :sadwave:

Um, first of all I never said that I haven't owned a Mac or have tried out a Mac. You just assumed that. Secondly, I don't have to be an expert to figure out that it financially makes absolutely no sense and I think I just proved that. You're like a fan of a sports team that thinks they can do no wrong.
