Why is the word "obviously" used so much in sports?

I made a comment to a friend of mine last year that the word "obviously" is used way to much. ESPN announcers kill the word. Now just yesterday and today Rome used it a lot and Rush is using it a lot also. Any idea why this word is used so much????.........Get real it's not obvious to me most of the time it's used....:SIB
