If someone tells you they will cover a bet for $200 if you place it. What does this

with such little detail.... sounds like they are covering your bet...but don't know if that means you bet and lost so they should cover it...or you bet $200 and they were taking your bet :shrug:

That means YOU have a $200 bet on Dallas if you accept the bet.

No.......I am on the phone and a friend says "If you bet $200 on team "A" I will cover it for you"
well he owes your bet....did he want anything if you won and not that it matters cause he covered it

It means they want you to place the bet and if the bet loses, they pay you the $200, as though they'd placed it themselves.
It means " Man if I had $200 , I'd put it on the Steelers " Next guy says " I'll cover ya "
If it won, he owes you $200 , otherwise you need to fork over some money.

sounds like a friend wanted too make a wager and didnt have a local bookie/online account to place the wager, so he asked you too put it in for him. I am guessing he meant he had the cash if it lost and expected too collect if it won:shrug:
