I happen to be a lifelong golfer and it is private property....I hate when people get out there, where they are trespassing, and interfere with my sport that I paid good dollars for:shrug:

And without a doubt, I would have teed off on that little "toy" as far as I could hit that fucker:0008

And in my group, those "kids" would not have come running to get their toy:sadwave:

Of course, but we're only working with the video shown. :)

What's up brother Dawg--

Assuming the video was real life--

Evidently Pops had just lost a press to let something like that make him so angry :)
--considering age of pranksters I had no prob with him busting up car--had they been youngsters I would hope the pops would have just laughed it off. Pops could use some anger management to prevent heat attack/stroke in future.

Pranksters--
All they had to do to accomplished their stunt-and get away with car intact--was get the car and themselves out of dodge after initial stunt and before pops reached car.
--but they apparantly weren't satisfied and had to leave the car there and circle the wagons for added effect--and paid the price
Arrogance and lack of commonsense--a bad combination.

Fortunately the pranksters 1st instinct was to run when threatened--or could have ended tragic for both sides-
--and unless prankster made threatning gestures as he raced toward the green I probably lay most of blame on pops for losing temper-despite pranksters being instigator--under punishment didn't fit the crime--but just my 2 cents on "what I saw" but -As you said- we only seen video shown--so are privvy to only what one side wants us to see.

Here's an old timer fights back classic :)

Love it. I wish the old guy had connected. Aren;t these nerds supposed to be chasing tail at this age??

Interesting if they were young guys that the joke was played on, they caught them, and the idiots were beaten like a stick. What is the situation then?

I think the situation is that the guys on this board praising the old guys' actions would be saying, "what is wrong with kids these days being so violent?"

Whose mistake is that?

Not sure of the question, but I think if it were older guys pulling the prank, smashing the car would be an equally appropriate reaction (when you factor in that he could easily be down several hundred dollars after ill-timed presses).

I wonder what the reaction here would be if the video ended by one of the young guys smashing the remote control over one of the old guy's face in reaction to having a golf club swung at him.

This is the reasoning behind my stance. Violence begets violence.

And I also love how nobody (yyz) is saying anything about the internet tough guys on the older side.... "If this were my group...."

Really, my guess after meeting several of you in person would probably think it was a pretty funny prank (as long as you didn't make some ill-timed presses, of course). I don't get the total anger in it. Pretty harmless prank if you ask me.

It's certainly not tearing up someone's bushes :)

These "kids" were not engaging in age-appropriate activity imo. Were 10yo to have done this, then smashing the car would be out of line. These 20yo idiots were ruining what was possibly (or even likely ) a cash game. They deserved to have their property smashed imo. Because of the lack of respect displayed towards these senior citizens, I actually wish the old guy would have stomped it repeatedly after his initial blow.

The prank was funny, but their disrespectful reaction to the old guy breaking the car is unacceptable. What did they think, that the old dudes were going to watch the car race around the green all afternoon?

That would have damaged the green, therefore I believe he showed great restraint and was in complete control of his well thought out actions. :0008

The differance is in the age groups.
Young/Older will always see things differant.
For me 68 I can see the joke. But once balls were moved get your toy the hell out of there. THe hanging oround caused the problem.

On the course!

The only "tough guys" I was talking about, lived in the video.

I can just see them pecking away about how "I woulda done this, or I coulda done that".

Well, we see what really happens.

I highly doubt I would have smashed their car, myself. But, it doesn't bother me that they did.

Again, it's all about circumstances. If these lads were playing in a vacant lot, and these old dudes walked by and stomped on their car.....I would fully expect their reactions. But, when you run it up their ass as a joke, and it backfires.......IMO, you really don't have much to bitch about.

Matter of fact, if these "kids" would have went up there and said, "Hey, we're sorry. We were only having a little fun, and didn't know it would cause that much anguish", I'm guessing the old goat would have felt pretty stupid.

Also, the way the second old guy was trying to be a peacemaker initially, he might have paid for the car.

That old fart has a good swing! Kinda reminds me of how I hit a home run on UGA12s mailbox the other night.

I will give you the first shot for free so enjoy, but I would be careful venturing out of the Auburn Cunnilengus forum much as it usually doesn't work out well for folks such as yourself.
