I just wanted to share a story of how I have gotten crushed in the past betting NFL totals based on weather. About two or three seasons ago, I thought I would get ahead of the curve with a weather total. The game was New England at Buffalo, I hit the under early in the week and I think I got the total at 45 and I unloaded because I knew a major snowstorm was coming that weekend. Sure enough, the bettors began to hammer the under and it dropped to around 35 points on gamesday. By kickoff, the snowstorm had hit and the field was a white out with snow coming down by the bucket, so I knew that I had a winner and was patting myself on the back. Come halftime, New England was up 38-7 and they ended up winning with a score around 50-7. Even with blizzard like conditions, the teams still soared over the under, as the ball seemed to squirt out of the Bills players arms every time they touched the ball. The moral to the story is that even though it seems obvious that a blizzard or snowstorm should cut down scoring it is not a given. I always have found that the best weather for a under lock is a heavy Florida downpour, as I can recall making a mint on a Steelers and Dolphins game that was played in a Florida downpour where I think the final was like 7-0 Steelers.

I remember that Pats game well. No reason in the world that game shoulda gone over. I was lucky to be on the side of a steelers game within the last few yrs that was at Heinz. Not only was it pouring, the field was in HORRIBLE shape (I want to say a HS game was played there during the week). Neither team could do anything and the final was under 15. Felt like a genius on that one. The dozen other times i've tried it I got burned.

similar situation in newengland last year or year before where the titans played in foxboro in a whiteout....everyone on under and pats won something crazy around that same score of 45-7 or something ridiculous and went over

I was on that under too.

BUT...this time I do believe that it's all about the wind rather than any rain/snow.

25-35 mph winds with gust of 40+ will make passing and FG kicking tough.

I agree. Been down this same road thinking wet balls snow ice whatever. Wind is a VERY big contribution to an under. Has to be over 20+ to have any kind of impact. Idc what the total is unless there's a walter peyton involved.

dont remember the game in question but if you had a chance at a 10 point middle and didnt take it.....well......your loss.....those types of opportunities RARELY come around where your sitting on two potential winners while just risking juice.
