Many atheists classify the religious (ie Christians here in the USA) as ignorant. I can see why you take exception to that, but that's not nearly as offensive as the hatred expressed by Xtians against other religions.
Listen, sometime, to what Xtians have to say about Muslims - it's far more offensive that just calling them ignorant. Stuff like:
"Nuke 'em all."
"Spray 'em with pigs blood."
"Burn them out."
And then there's the Muslim's cries for Jihad, death to the infidels and the like.
And they would too, if they could.
When is the last time an atheist burned a church, synagogue or mosque? When have atheists ever called for the extermination of a religion? Ever seen an atheist burn a Bible, Torah or Koran? Ever heard of an atheist walking into a place of worship and gunning people down? Has an atheist ever ambushed a physician because of his religious beliefs?
Name calling over religion may offend you, but it is only words. Many of the religious propose and carry out much more than words.
So, if you are looking to be offended by religious intolerance, start with Christians and Muslims. Their intolerance is far, far more violent and offensive than atheists'.
