Doesn't look like anyone is gonna be able to (or is interested to) play anything Mon. or Tues. but I don't want to write in here about "winning a bundle" on either of those days without posting MY plays. Just luvin what I'm seeing today - horses I'm familiar with, great potential for huge payoffs, races with full fields.

Capped races 1 through 6 and come up with 3 playable races:

Race 1

I wrote about the posts 1 and 2 in two turners yesterday. Both are (M.L.) good odds in this race but the best part is that I'm coming up with the 1 and 2 in my top 3 picks even after capping the race. Not suggesting anybody follows this route but, for me, when I come up with 2 picks - I wheel one of them top/bot. in zactas and play the other Win/Place heavy enough to cover the cost of the zactas PLUS some profit. You can't get away doing that kind of stuff at most tracks (ESP. say a track like Aqueduct), but at Philly you can.... and it's paid off very handsomely in the past IF THEY COME IN. The odds on these two should work out as long as I EITHER hit the exacta or hit a winner with the other hoss. If that other hoss runs 2nd - the loss shouldn't be that bad. IF the two horses run first and second... well, that would be :00hour
That's what I did for this race. BTW, I can't play them all, but if anybody likes the no. 3 then DON'T let this take you off that one. That's one that I worry about cause that one, My Lily Lane, has a decent chance at a good price in this race.

5th race

Whew, sure wrote enough about that last race. Gonna make this one shorter....

No. 4, Rolex Girl (12-1) and No. 8, Holy Ransom (6-1). No need to write how I'm playing these.

Race 6

Man is this one ever interesting. I'm very familiar with the nags in this race.. hope not TOO familiar. I sure hope I don't see both favorites come home first and second cause ithat would be a serious ass kicking for me and I just may have to cool it with Philly until that track gets back to normal. Believe it or not, I have no problem doing that.

It's great to play these race online, say with Twinspires, cause you can putem in the NIGHT before and then just watch the replay (exactly like seeing the race live) at night or whatever. Thats what I usually do.. and I only play Philly. I mentioned that cause I don't want to play this race without seeing the odds and HOPE I can get home to watch this one live.

Ok, here's what I'm finding...

No. 5, Olymypic Pegasus is trained by Carlos Guerrero. I already wrote about him ... he's just unreal and this one fits HIS winning profile perfectly. M.L is 7-2 and he'll get bet down.

No. 8, Chromospere, is M.L. fav. @ 5-2 and I expect his odds to move UP. I'm sure most players are going to pass on this horse for a lot of reasons... and they're good reasons too. BIG PROB. is that I believe this horse just may win this race.

Now, there are VERY live longshots in this race. Nos. 1,3,6,7, and 10 the way I see it. These are the ones to use in exactas, only. One or two stinkn dollar exacta with EACH of these with one or both of the above (favs.) seems good.

You just want to bet ONE horse in this race and you want that horse to have excellent odds considering his chance of winning? Well, that is one bet I am making right now without seeing anything.. and that is on the no. 9, Dirt Diver (12-1).

IF I get to see them in the prerace, I'll go for the better looking one between the 5 and the 8 and box (exactas) top/bottom with the 1,3,6, 7, and 10. No matter what, I got the no. 9 running for me without having to worry about any of the others.

That's it. Now, lets see what the hell happens today :)

Not good enough

Not good enough

Sheesh, just clicked backd to the track and see the no. 2 crossing the wire. Had the right 2horses cause the 5 got second, but no exacta for me. Got the 5 place.

No magic happening for me, so I will prob. play them tomorrow cause it's Tues. Win or lose, skipping ALL of next week and I'll see whats going on sometime in January at Philly.

Time for a vacation :)

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays everybody.

Caught the exacta (10-9), no matter - I'm done for awhile AFTER :))) tomorrow.

Played the 10 with the four longest shots in this race (top and bottom). Left out the no. 6 who looked bad in the prerace. Only for 2 stinkin bucks.

Tuesday

Tuesday

OK, last chance to git dat cash for 2010 today. Well, for me anyway.

Like some big prices - problem is that there's more than 2 of them that I like in a few of the races.

Still have to take a look at races 8 and 10.

The plays...

2nd race
No 2, Spunk (15-1), EXACTAS (top and bottom) with 1,4,6,9. Don't want to miss this one IF he comes in with a different horse, so also small play on no. 2 Win/Place. Backup with a play Win/Place on no. 3, Cool Sam (15-1), also. Don't need to put much down with these kinda odds.

4th race
Funny thing is that I like the 2 AND the 3 again. A bit more expensive to play this race -

No. 2, Record High (10-1) is the one I'm gonna take to beat Guerrero's (remember that guy?.. he's cooling off a bit lately) horse. Playing exactas with the no. 2 (top and bottom) with a bunch. -> 1,3,5,6,9,10.
Tough to leave out Guerrero's hoss, no. 3, so the backup for this race is the no. 3, Valmeni (2-1), top/bottom with 1,5,6,8. NO typos there, I know some of the nos. don't match but that's the way I playem. If ANY of these exactas hit it should produce a decent profit. BTW, I'll be doubling up with 2<->6 and 3<->6 zactas. The 6 is the lone speed in this race and is liable to wire a field at any time despite how badly he looked in his last race. OOps.. sorry Agnes - SHE looked.

7th race
No. 8, Midnight's Child (7-2) IS the Best Bet today.

Have a great and prosperous 2011, y'awl.

UGH

UGH

Jdub, just TERRIBLE. Absolutely doing nothing since the cold set in. Hit ex/winner about 12 days ago, collected $660 + - got a little over a hundred of that left. AND I also hit a for almost half that amount the week before too.

Just AWFUL. Esp. that best bet - figured VERY strong.

I'll be making a STAB in the last race, trifectas.... 7/1,3,11/1,3/11 and 3/1,7,11/1/7/11.

Do I recommend following me.. er, :nono:

After my "vacation" I'll only be playing on paper until I get back to the way things USED TO GO FOR ME at this track. If I do get back on track, I'll post and I DO recommend giving my picks extra consideration.

Best of luck to you whatever you play.
