Doesn't look like anyone is gonna be able to (or is interested to) play anything Mon. or Tues. but I don't want to write in here about "winning a bundle" on either of those days without posting MY plays. Just luvin what I'm seeing today - horses I'm familiar with, great potential for huge payoffs, races with full fields.
Capped races 1 through 6 and come up with 3 playable races:
Race 1
I wrote about the posts 1 and 2 in two turners yesterday. Both are (M.L.) good odds in this race but the best part is that I'm coming up with the 1 and 2 in my top 3 picks even after capping the race. Not suggesting anybody follows this route but, for me, when I come up with 2 picks - I wheel one of them top/bot. in zactas and play the other Win/Place heavy enough to cover the cost of the zactas PLUS some profit. You can't get away doing that kind of stuff at most tracks (ESP. say a track like Aqueduct), but at Philly you can.... and it's paid off very handsomely in the past IF THEY COME IN. The odds on these two should work out as long as I EITHER hit the exacta or hit a winner with the other hoss. If that other hoss runs 2nd - the loss shouldn't be that bad. IF the two horses run first and second... well, that would be :00hour
That's what I did for this race. BTW, I can't play them all, but if anybody likes the no. 3 then DON'T let this take you off that one. That's one that I worry about cause that one, My Lily Lane, has a decent chance at a good price in this race.
5th race
Whew, sure wrote enough about that last race. Gonna make this one shorter....
No. 4, Rolex Girl (12-1) and No. 8, Holy Ransom (6-1). No need to write how I'm playing these.
Race 6
Man is this one ever interesting. I'm very familiar with the nags in this race.. hope not TOO familiar. I sure hope I don't see both favorites come home first and second cause ithat would be a serious ass kicking for me and I just may have to cool it with Philly until that track gets back to normal. Believe it or not, I have no problem doing that.
It's great to play these race online, say with Twinspires, cause you can putem in the NIGHT before and then just watch the replay (exactly like seeing the race live) at night or whatever. Thats what I usually do.. and I only play Philly. I mentioned that cause I don't want to play this race without seeing the odds and HOPE I can get home to watch this one live.
Ok, here's what I'm finding...
No. 5, Olymypic Pegasus is trained by Carlos Guerrero. I already wrote about him ... he's just unreal and this one fits HIS winning profile perfectly. M.L is 7-2 and he'll get bet down.
No. 8, Chromospere, is M.L. fav. @ 5-2 and I expect his odds to move UP. I'm sure most players are going to pass on this horse for a lot of reasons... and they're good reasons too. BIG PROB. is that I believe this horse just may win this race.
Now, there are VERY live longshots in this race. Nos. 1,3,6,7, and 10 the way I see it. These are the ones to use in exactas, only. One or two stinkn dollar exacta with EACH of these with one or both of the above (favs.) seems good.
You just want to bet ONE horse in this race and you want that horse to have excellent odds considering his chance of winning? Well, that is one bet I am making right now without seeing anything.. and that is on the no. 9, Dirt Diver (12-1).
IF I get to see them in the prerace, I'll go for the better looking one between the 5 and the 8 and box (exactas) top/bottom with the 1,3,6, 7, and 10. No matter what, I got the no. 9 running for me without having to worry about any of the others.
That's it. Now, lets see what the hell happens today
