I don't have a problem with people having a rifle, shotgun or small handgun for hunting or home protection. Nobody needs weapons of war. The guns should be difficult to get, with a rigid vetting and registration process. You should be required to have liability insurance. I'd enact laws that would make crimes committed by gun owners more punitive and if you commit a crime while in possession of a gun you could face penalties up to and including execution. Making the minimum age 25 doesn't sound like a bad idea either.
