I've never known if this was a legitimate argument or just something gun nuts throw out there to distract from the issue. Do you honestly not know the difference between a vehicle, designed for transportation, and an assault rifle, expressly designed to kill many human beings on a battlefield? I know kickserv says you're that dumb, but are you really? That is seriously one of the absolute dumbest arguments you can make for not banning assault rifles. "Oh, well then we'd need to ban everything on Earth that could possibly kill a person!" :facepalm:
And I'm guessing nuance really isn't your thing, but those victims were not "illegals." They were asylum-seekers. Which usually means things really sucked in their home country and they heard about this "American Dream" thing and wanted to work their asses off to achieve it. I know, I know, you probably feel all brown people should be illegal. But that doesn't make it so. Are you Texas Governor Greg Abbott? Making sure to refer to them as "illegals"? For fuck's sake, they were human beings trying to improve their lives.
