    It was Nixon, Wallace, and McGovern running. Wallace dropped out after he got shot and that messed McGovern up because Wallace was going to take a lot of the Nixon votes Nixon won easily. :mad:

    I remember pretty clearly. I was a senor in high school and the shooting took place about 15 minutes from my high school. He was running for pres and it happened pretty close to election time. So that was sometime late 1972 (without looking it up).
