“Let’s take it down a notch guys we gotta play through”

this damn near happened to me many years ago. long story short(ish), i was golfing with 2 friends and they paired us up with a 4th. young guy named jason. we got stuck behind a very slow foursome. we were waiting on every tee. it wasn't just that they were bad golfers (so were 3 of us. jason, on the other hand, was practically a scratch golfer.), but they were lining up every putt as if they were tiger woods on the 18th at augusta. and they were wearing jeans and nascar sweatshirts. anyway, we hoped to get past them when we made the turn, but they just beat us to the 10th tee. we were getting frustrated. we got to the 13th tee. it was a par 5 (helpful visual aid below). they were still working on their 2nd shots. someone in our group said "fuck it, let's just hit into them." first 3 guys tee off, no problem. our last guy hits one right at them. one bounce, hits the guy square in the back. amazingly, he didn't even turn around. no reaction whatsoever. so jason is in the rough to the right. we're once again waiting. i think we were still a bit shocked that we hit one of them. once they got on the green, jason figured he was safe to hit. he hit an absolute bomb that rolled up onto the green. one of their guys then kicked the ball into the trap. well, that lit a fire under jason. he starts storming up to the green. the 3 of us look at each other like "are we seriously about to get into a fight on a golf course, for a guy we don't even know?" but he was in our foursome, so we trailed behind him. he gets right up into the guy who kicked his ball and just starts verbally assaulting him. something along the lines of "you're a bunch of fucking trailer trash! wearing fucking jeans and sweatshirts!" looking back, it was actually hilarious. anyway, the other 3 in their group were already in their carts. they wanted no part of this. the guy who was getting berated then put his head down and got into the cart and off they went. they sped up and we didn't have to wait once the last 5 holes.
way, way, way too close to having a similar situation to what was in that video.
