Headed home after (7) nights in Vegas. Attended the Broadcasters convention. First time back since pre-covid. (6-5 Blackjack all around, charging for parking, $10 cup of coffee, $10 bottled water, most blackjack minimums seem high, never saw any machine payouts posted like the 98% pay-out days. Great $ value buffets seem to all be closed down like the buffet at Gold Coast. This new philosophy seems to be driven by a greed or a shake down mentality. Obviously they are willing to nickel -dime folks in an effort to drain every dollar possible. So different from my first trip to Vegas in 1980. .99 cent shrimp cocktails and a few dollars for steak & egg breakfast. $2 craps at O'Sheas. Hope Old Vegas philosophy makes a come back.

Hope Old Vegas philosophy makes a come back.

The most important thing any tourist destination needs to do is adapt, and Las Vegas Nevada is doing the exact opposite, they ain't adapting at all. Without tourists Las Vegas is dead, and as every year goes by it gets worse and worse, in other words it is dying.

There are thousands of locations throughout the world where you can travel and have fun (and spend your hard earned money), why the fuck would you go to Vegas now?

Unless you go to Las Vegas as a disciplined gambler (just focus on Sports or baccarat or poker, etc, not get fucked over on all the shit) why would anybody go to Las Vegas now? Nothing kills a vacation more than getting fucked over and under appreciated, you want that to happen, go to Las Vegas.

Didn't Jack recently have a thread where there was shit in his room and it didn't get cleaned up, yes literal shit🤦‍♂️

Oh and for the record your just an idiot if you spend your money on all the scam games (6/5 blackjack, double zero roulette, no commission baccarat, etc, etc,) that isn't on the State of Nevada, that is on you, if you are that dumb, then you get what you deserve.

We refuse to ever play 6/5 blackjack, anywhere, anytime. Agree 100%.
6/5 BJ should be a criminal offense.

Our main purpose was to attend the convention. Going to Vegas used to be a thrill. They have killed that so bad we discussed whether we want to ever return. Seems like they view tourists as sucker's and continue to devise ways to squeeze more & more out of every sucker.

Headed there next week, my son and 13 of his good buddies from college for his bachelor party. Hanging with them one night taking all to dinner, but after that will solo so the "pack" of 29 and 30 year olds can have their fun. All have great jobs, should be a blast for them. Sheezus, they have a couple poolside cabanas and minimum spend for the day is $5,000. Crazy. Dinner at old school Piero's, love that place.

OK, back Monday night and very fortunate to have been down an acceptable $2200, and come back ahead $1125, by getting lucky on a last day mindless entertainment roulette table at Cosmopolitan that my lady hit number 33 (Larry Bird) 3 out of 4 rolls and two 17's I had a green $25 chip on each playing $100 a spin. Walked away, went up the escalator and ate sushi hand rolls at Tekka Bar (very good), and got in taxi to the airport.
Their Cabanas of course cost more after all said and done but they are young and didn't care. The younger generation doesn't really care about odds as a whole and it definitely is a younger vibe in that city now. Bottled waters were only $8 :smilies3 and coffee defoinitely $10 for a small. Piero's was fantastic to say the least still serving the full plate Veal Parm and the Osso Bucco was tremendous. Did Mott 32 at Venitian and had the Peking Duck ordered day before, absolutely perfection. Had the regular stop at Joe's Stone crabs for a plate of Large and the hash browns and key lime pie (in case Jack you are reading this). Dinner with the boys was an extra 3k not included in my tally above, which was as expected for 14 people. Yes I will still go back, can't help it, the food is just too damn good there as well as watching football in Sportsbooks with fans from almost every school it seemed and every NFL team Jersey for sure.
