    CFL: Toronto @ BC

I think BC may have the edge here. First, they've been off since June 29 while Toronto played July 3. In the heat of summer, an extra 4 days can be huge. Even though both teams are 0-2, they do have one common opponent: Montreal. Toronto lost to Montreal 28-12 at home while getting...

    Team/HP umpire matchups

Seattle has lost 5 straight with Reliford behind HP Oakland is 6-0 with Van Vleet behind the plate Montreal is 1-4 with Fichter Cincinnati is 2-6 w/Reynolds St. Louis is 3-7 with Kellogg.

    SD/StL

I see Canbet money has been coming in on San Diego. When it comes in there on the dog, they usually are alive; like Montreal last night. Lawrence is decent and Simontacchi is coming off an all-time high pitch count. I keep wondering if this guy's bubble is going to burst; he got shelled in...

    Amazing Cubs stat

The Cubs are 1-10 as a favorite of -160 or bigger.

    Ana/Tex OTB?

Any word why this is off the board? Last week Anaheim moved Ortiz back a day in the rotation.

    Det/KC total

Many reasons to like the over here: 1. HP ump Cedarstrom is a hitters ump. 13-3 over when he's behind HP this year. 2. 9 of KC's last 11 home games have gone over the total. They hit better but pitch worse at home. Detroit is the exact opposite. 3. Two lousy bullpens. Detroit pen ERA...

    St. Louis

I think this may be a good time to lay the run and a half. The Cards were in no shape to play Sunday night but I think being back at Busch, with their ace pitching, and facing a garbage can team, they will destroy Milwaukee.

    Goodlatte

I keep picturing that scene in Casino where Joe Pesci and his brother end up getting buried in the desert. Too bad it wasn't this Goodlatte guy. But the mob probably is in his corner, since he's trying to ban offshore gambling, which would give gambling back to the mob. I'm surprised there...

    Cubs weather update

I'm about 4 miles south of the park but its getting a bit dark here. Saw a couple flashes of lightning in the area. No rain as of yet.

    Indiana/Seattle

Both teams played on the road last night. Indy won; Seattle lost. But a look at the box score shows Indy caught all the breaks; Seattle didn't. Last night: Indiana +15 in FTA and committed 7 less fouls Seattle -13 in FTA and committed 12 more fouls Indy will let down tonight. Taking SEATTLE...

    Minn/Milw

From a recent Baseball Weekly: "We can't wait for that Milwaukee trip (June 14-16). We're really going to go after them. We'll tell the Brewers, 'nothing personal against you, but we want to put a can of whuppin on you." Torii Hunter on taking out revenge on Selig/contraction on the Brewers.

    Balt/Cleve ump

With Cleveland playing out of town tomorrow, I would doubt MLB would fly in a new set of umps for this one specific game. I'm guessing they'll leave the same crew there that worked the Philly series, which means Doug Eddings, 26-51 under the past 3 seasons, would be behind the plate.

    Game 4 dreaded words

Riot control and parades. As soon as you hear them, its definitely time to take the dog. I remember when word leaked out the NBA had the Bulls doing a rehearsal for the award presentation; the Sonics ended up beating the hell out of them by 20 pts. They ended up winning the next game also...

    Castillo in, Sweeney out

Castillo had been questionable but he is in the starting lineup. Sweeney will not be starting for KC.

    Window for the Cubs

I think there's going to be a window of another week, maybe 10 days to get value on the Cubs. Their bullpen has been terrible and McGriff (McWhiff?) and Alou got off to terrible starts and their moneylines eventually came down. But now McGriff is on fire and Farnsworth, their key set-up man...

    Belmont Stakes

Like somebody said in another thread, there's only a handful of horses who have a realistic chance of winning. Its who makes up that handful that causes the debate. Here's who I think they are: WAR EMBLEM--Obvious but his bettability is the concern here. With the unknown distance factor of...

    Middle possibility

Atlanta -170 & NY Mets +1.5 runs -149 There are only a few teams I'll try this with. Both teams have been a little disappointing offensively. Two solid starters and two very capable bullpens. I see a 4-3 Braves win.

    Joyce umping Hou/Cubbies

Good news for Cubs fans; home teams are 39-21 w/him behind the plate the L3 seasons and 10-0 this year.

    Twins bullpen

Milton is under a lot of pressure to give them a lot of innings. Reed lasted 1 1/3 on Wednesday and Radke lasted 1/3 of an inning yesterday, and that game went 10 inn. So in the last 2 days, the Twins pen has pitched 16 1/3 innings.

    Friday rematches

YTD: 24-21 +2.55 units This angle has struggled lately but is still profitable on the season Boston +115 (Lowe/Wells) sounds like a Pitt intrasquad matchup Baltimore +160 (Lopez/Moyer) Cincy +110 (Reitsma/Maddux) San Fran -150 (Jensen/Jennings)
