    2nd half possibilities

The ridiculous, totally uncalled for way-too long halftime show may make for some interesting betting possibilities. If a team is in rythym and is totally pumped, what could be worse than to have to sit in the locker room for an hour? If the Rams open up big in the first half, I'd look for a...

    The after-Bulls angle

OK, I'll let the cat out of the bag on this one. First, at some point it will cease to be profitable. Second, I wonder if others have caught on to it since its only been 22-19 this season. My composite number right now on it is 114-75 (60%). The angle: Bet the OVER on any team who's last...

    Butler/Wisc-Milw

Butler has become something of a public team. They are now the Gonzaga of the Midwest. They started out the year great, but have been inconsistent in Horizon League play. I did see their last game, and the final score is a bit deceptive. They trailed by double digits in the 2nd half and had...

    League total trend

For the season, its 51.6% overs and 48.4% unders but the last 30 days its 113-85 (57% over and only 43% under). I think many people felt the new rules would hurt scoring, but so far that hasn't been the case.

    Antwain Smith o/u yardage

I haven't seen a number yet, but I'm guessing it will be too high. At what point will the Patriots abandon the run? And if they don't, how successful does Smith figure on being? I know he's been banged up recently. I think JR Redmond will get some carries as well. This may be as big of a...

    24-8 angle going tomorrow

Someone on this board posted the numbers for teams going UNDER when playing on zero days rest after coming off an overtime game. Since the beginning of the 2000-01 season, this angle has produced 24 unders and only 8 overs. Tuesday's qualifier? The LA Clippers. This total is already too...

    NE/Pitt total

Has gone past the key 37 number. If you bet the over early, it looks like a great middle opportunity. Personally, I don't see this game going over 37'

    Early total projections

    For the earlier games: Temple/NC State 139 what's up w/the line?? 4.5?? I expected at least 15. Oklahoma/Tex Tech 148.5 DePaul/Louisville 151 Florida/Arkansas 155 UConn/Arizona 160 Illinois/Indiana 139 Dayton/Xavier 133

    Laker streak

The Lakers are on an amazing streak; 11 games in a row they have either beaten, or lost to the spread by 10 or more pts. Obviously, they aren't always motivated. But when they are, watch out.

Anyone here bet tennis? I'm considering taking the +110 on Capriati.

    NBA Database question

For anyone that has info on this: What are the numbers (ATS and totals) for teams coming off an overtime game? And on no rest? Thanks in advance.

    Double digit dogs

I think a couple look interesting. Buffalo getting 14 from Kent. Buffalo is 11-2 ATS this season and has already beaten Kent straight up. The other would be K-State. Not so much of them but because their opponent, Colorado, is laying 11. Can you lay double digits with a team that has 7 ATS...

    Friday totals??

With 2 games on TV, I would think there would be totals but I haven't seen them posted anywhere. I'm projecting these numbers: Charlotte/South Florida 143.5 Memphis/Southern Miss 131

    Shop for props

Some interesting middling opportunities in the prop bets this weekend. I checked both Canbet and Carib (I'm not trying to plug either one) but I'm sure other offshores offer them. One that stands out involves the A-Train. At Carib, the rushing over/under for him is 81.5 yards; at Canbet its...

    Averages or medians?

When trying to project scores, I find medians to be much more accurate for totals. Very high scores tend to skew the averages too high, making it a distortion which can lead to too many "over" bets. Medians are a lot more work, but IMO, worth it.

    Texas/TTech total

I'm not surprised the total (was 144', now 146') is climbing. Texas scored 65 pts last game---in the 1st half alone. That would be like an NBA team scoring 156. Knight's IU teams were 29-23 over his last 4 years there.

    Pepperdine/St Marys

Pepperdine appears to have a major size advantage here. Their front line goes 6'11", 6'6, 6'6 and a key reserve who's 6'8 who just returned after a suspension. St Marys looks like a high school team: 6'9" 6'5", 6'3". A lot of cappers are on St Marys and the line does almost look like a trap.

    Memphis/TCU total

I know TCU was involved in a crazy game last week against South Florida but I'm going to guess they don't go 14 for 26 on 3 pts tonight. I'm also going to guess Calipari isn't going to let them get close to triple digits tonight. Late starting time and national TV may keep this one under. 175...

    Tenn Chat/Davidson

Anyone know anything about these 2 teams? Several sharp bettors on another site are all over Davidson. All I know about Tenn-Chat is Terrell Owens went there.

    Strahan sack record

Absolutely disgraceful. Favre and Bubba Franks should get fined by the league. It clearly was a set-up. I think even the most ardent Packer fans would have to agree. Why on earth would GB even think of passing with a minute and a half left? As for Strahan, he should feel guilty about it...
