    thanks gw, surprisingly my computer went back to normal after the system restore but avast isnt working saying "unable to start scan. there are no more endpoints available from endpoint mapper" well as normal as it will be until it goes haywire again, and ive got an old annoying dell as well

    Josh, I'm currently attempting a restore, and it has been at a startup repair screen for the last 10 minutes saying attempting repairs... Should I wait till it's done or just cancel it and try what you recommended?
