    My guess is that the auctions open to the public are the cars that didn't get picked up at the 'dealer-only' auctions. I would probably steer clear of this as well.

    I've bought our last two vehicles through a guy that does this as his business. Got killer deals on both vehicles. Have had the Odyssey for over 5 years and the Silverado for over 3 with no problems. If you have a person to navigate it for you that you trust, this is a good option.
