Maiden Claiming - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $31,000 Class Rating: 65
Rating: Four Golden Dollars out of Four
#3 LADY CHOCOLOTTA (ML=5/2)
LADY CHOCOLOTTA - The December 18th affair at Aqueduct was at a class level of (73). Dropping down in class ranks considerably, so she should be in a good position. This filly ran well in her last race but just couldn't haul in the winner. Note that she was well clear of the show horse, and looks like a major contender in this field. (EPS) earnings per start is something that I feel can be a crucial factor. This thoroughbred is ranked at the top in this group.
Vulnerable Contenders: #6 AWESOME WINTER (ML=3/1), #4 VALERIE'S SPIRIT (ML=7/2), #5 BACK TO TOGA (ML=4/1),
AWESOME WINTER - This filly hasn't been showing me anything in the last two races around the track. Recent decreasing Equibase speed figures of 60/47/20 give a clue that this equine may be going off form. VALERIE'S SPIRIT - 7/2 odds isn't enough for this thoroughbred when examining the most recent showings. BACK TO TOGA - Last raced on December 30th at Aqueduct, finishing fifth. Unlikely to move up off of that outing in today's event. Finished fifth in her most recent effort with a quite unimpressive speed figure. When I look at today's Equibase class figure, it would take an improved performance to score after that in this bunch.
