Go Habs Go!!
Overall record: 173-167-17
3-8-1 record since the break... not the way I wanted to start. But looking at it on the bright side... what did I learn with these lost units?

7 games on this 7th day of February...

Vancouver in Buffalo: Biron will start against a Canucks team that has shown signs of weaknesses in the last 13 games (5-5-3 record). I should point out that it wasn't the hardest schedule for them in those last 13... Biron is hot... perhaps an upset? ;)

Long Island in Washington: Should be a good game... any team can win... wil probably stay off this one.

Atlanta in New Jersey: Two hot teams facing each other. The Trashers could definitely make a statement with a win. I really like the value on Thrashers play. WIl they have enough firepower? ;)

San Jose in Minnesota: The Sharks are playing some great hockey and are slowly looking like the team that they were last year. They are gelling. The Wild's play has been inconsistent but they are still in the elite 8. I really like the Sharks play... look for Nabokov to eventually steal one soon and keep their good streak alive... ;)

Calgary in Edmonton: The battle of Alberta is set to resume and it should be a good one. I'm expectign an exciting game here. Will the Flames have enough juice to give a 60-minute effort?

Carolina in Los Angeles: LA won a game with lots of guys on the shelf. The Canes are not winning alot, 2 wins in last 19 games... But they have a chance to win in this one. They won't be able to blame it on the injuries because the Kings are even more injured than them!

Phoenix in Anaheim: Important matchup for both teams. Bierk is starting to look like a regular goalie. Anaheim is playing strong and Ozolinsh's addition will certainly provide more offense to this team.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow and Friday will be the day that I get back on track! :yup

I am not sure why the Nucks line is so low.... but I will point out that I am HAMMERING the nucks..... Rakman said it best.... after blowing a 3 goal lead to columbus what better team to make a statement to then Buffalo.... I look for them to turn it around with this game..... thats 3-4 games in a row now that they have jumped to nice leads and have let the team come back..... I'm thinking a Canucks blow out tomorrow...

But GL with what you play!!

Early play...

ATLANTA +.5 (+170) ? unit
ATLANTA (+240) ? unit
The Trashers are coming into this one in full throttle. At this price, if there was one way I would like the Thrashers to come in to this game, it would be the way they are playing right now. But let's not undermine their opponents who play a very good game. They will need to come out with their best effort, goaltending will need to be at it's finest and they will need to outdual a tough goalie in Brodeur. I looked at the Devils' losses and they have dropped a few against sub .500 teams. One of the recent ones was against the banged up Kings when Potvin had a great game.

Korn - I can totally understand where you guys are coming from and I could be wrong with my assessment of this game (read my post in ddubs thread for full details). I'm also surprised to see the line so low for the Canucks and not very high for the Sabres. Perhaps there will be movement tomorrow. To be continued...

Another early play...

SAN JOSE +.5 (-125)
San Jose is playing like a team that has a much better record than they have. The last time these two teams played, the Sharks dominated at home and it was the start of their current streak of 4 wins in last 5. I really like what's happening with this team but a game against the Wild will not be a walk in the park. The Sharks do have one thing that scares me, they play against Jersey and home-and-home against Philly next three games. They could be looking ahead. The Wild have been inconsistent since that loss and are coming off a win against a slumping Hawks team. They have not scored more than 2 goals in their last 7 games. I don't see them faring much better against a hot Shark team.

Cyra1,
Love your plays tonight, I guess I may as well jump on SanJose with you.
Since snow is in the area we need to bring these dogs in to help us pull our sleds of money to the bank tomorrow.

Good Luck!

Addition...

MINNESOTA UNDER 2? GOALS
Minnesota has scored two goals or less in their last 7 games. They are playing a very big and tough "renewed" defense in the Sharks. The Sharks on the other hand have allowed only 7 goals in their last 5 games. I don't see any indication for them to break their recent string of success tonight. Was hesitating between the under for the game or this play but finally decided that perhaps the numbers on Wild's play were more in favor.
