Thanks for all the nice comments yesterday, y'all. Two for tonight. Good luck.

Detroit PK +105 over WASHINGTON 400/420

Detroit has really been superb defensively recently. Washington still only has Jordan as a real scoring option so Detroit should be able to take advantage of that lack of depth. I expect a huge game from Stackhouse after the All Star snub.

CLEVELAND PK +310 over Minnesota 400/1240

Minnesota has allowed over 50% shooting in three of their last five and they have really struggled on the road recently. The Cavs have been playing competitively throughout their twelve game skid, so this is not a team that has given up. Ilgaskus presents a matchup problem inside for Nesterovic and Woods. Miller is playing great and I expect a big game after getting bypassed for the All Star Game.

It's one thing to pick these moneyline dogs when up a few grand, but I just read your numbers for the month. I wouldda had a bit of trouble pulling the trigger on those two from yesterday.

That's probably the difference between me and somebody who knows what their doin.

(I did play your plays yesterday, but not like you did$$$$)

Concering today's plays:

I assume that you've had success in the past on the All Star, "I'll Show Them Who Should Be An All-Star" snub angle. Is that true?

Nick, I agree that if you like Det in this game, the money-line is the only way to go. However I feel it is dangerous to go against Jordan and Collins at home in a game they think they should win. I would say that most of their wins this year have come from their game plan more than their talent adv. I like your Cle play with the odds you're getting more. Good luck with both of them.

nighthorse,

It's something I look for the day the All Stars are announced, but it really depends on the situation. In this case you have Stack, who may be having a better year than MJ, playing against him the day he gets snubbed. Plus Detroit is the more talented team, I think. Especially inside. Cleveland already beat Minny once this year and Minny is playing such soft defense it is a great spot again. The Miller All Star denial didn't play as big a part here. I liked CLE alot before the all stars were announced. I do think he will play big tonight, though.

As far as betting dogs when down for the month, I really only look at my long term results. I just post the month to month and week to week stuff because I know readers like to know that. I am still up pretty comfortably going back a year or more so I just try to evaluate each game on its own merits before playing it and I worry about the results long term.

gsp,

You know, Cleveland definitely is the stronger play here. I just like the way Detroit has gotten back to great defensive basketball lately so i am gonna ride them as dogs until they beat me as long as the matchups look good.

Want a good long shot with good odds that i think has a real shot at winning....take a look at the hornets, i may or may not play it but i know you like long shots with a real shot and i think they have a 50/50 shot at least. On clev, while minn has been bad clev might be the WORST TEAM IN THE NBA without murray yes i said it, there something like 1-10 without him he is the difference in that team...clev did beat min in min so no way the wolves take them lightly.

Thanks, guys. It has been a pretty good run for me in the NBA so far this season. And let me tell you the Cleveland game was a pretty nice one to watch.

By the way, I am gonna be in Vegas for the Super Bowl party so I am going to post recommendations for Friday, Saturday and Sunday on Friday morning before I head out. No updates from me on Saturday or Sunday. Good luck.
