There are some things to look at in your thesis on thesis-gate, IMO. First of all, we're dealing with two different schools, and I honestly don't know what the rules are regarding access to student information and schoolwork. I doubt there is a standard that all private colleges abide by, and I'd guess it would be up to each to deal with things as they see fit. I don't say that there couldn't be something funny going on, I guess I just would not think about it all that much - whomever it would be. But of course, some would, depending on who it is.
You make a comment about how someone "got it", and say that they'll "get it" the same way. You fail to mention the way "they got it" was due to the Obama campaign releasing a copy of the thesis on Politico.com - hardly a place where they would be trying to hide something, don't you think?
And when the thesis was reviewed there was nothing concerning or worrisome about it, although many tried to misrepresent it and sensationalize the contents - gee, maybe that's why they don't want people taking something and misrepresenting them for political gain?
As I note you do in characterizing her thesis subject matter as a "racial divide." There's nothing in the Snopes link that says that, and I'd suggest people do go there and read what you asked them to.
I honestly don't know if colleges keep all thesis' on hand indefinitely. Do they keep them in a folder somewhere? On microfilm? Is it up to the professor, or the school, or the department head, or what? Maybe you have some info or link to that regulation or requirement, I would be happy to see it.
I certainly understand why you'd try to make it an issue, though. Without even knowing what the subject matter was, you can make it something subversive and problematic.
